I am hoping muslims to reply to this post. Just this 8th of September, we Catholics celebrated the birthday of Mother Mary. Which reminds me, i recall Archbishop Fulton Sheen saying that if there is one thing that can probably unite Moslems and Christians, it would be Mary. Which brings me up to this question to my brother Moslems, who is Mary to you? What are your beliefs on Mary?

yes we do... We hold celebrations for her on September 8 and December 8, both of which we are required to hear mass. We often pray to her. We implore for her intercession whenever one is sick or dying as she has been known to make miracles. What do Moslems usually pray to her?

I am not a Muslim, but I understand their position that Jesus is a prophet to them. Now, if Jesus is just a prophet to them (a prophet is someone sent by God), then for Muslims, the mother of Jesus which is Mary is a mother of the prophet. I hope this is correct. Just my view.

Mary in Islam is Maryam and Jesus is known as Isa ibn Maryam means Jesus, son of Mary, not God. We in no way can equate Jesus with the beyond compare God, not by any means.
