First do not laugh by reading "DIGITAL" in title...This one is very serious matter AMERICA, INDIA, RUSSIA is facing in recent scenario....US has already declared that the next attack on its country would definitely be CYBER ATTACK
It has now become common knowledge how one country can ravage another and create chaos with the help of computer...
..What happens if all our banking systems come to a standstill, our telephone lines go dead, power stations stop running, flights get cancelled, stock exchange computers get shut down (or what happens if cyber attack/virus would change prices of stocks/share) and all satellites undergo disruption..?Does not our blood go cold at the mere thought of such a horrific hypothesis?
In these technologically advanced times, we cannot rule out such occurrence.Battling with enemies on borders is passe now...There are various other fronts over which wars are fought, cyber war leading the list of fronts. In simple terms cyber war means sabotaging enemy’s systems by hacking into them and crippling them, creating anarchy. [u] One country (I dont want to give name here..)struck nearly 1300 computers in as many as 100 countries including India and America. Worse still, nobody knew about these attacks for quite some time. It was only Canada that first came to know of ****’s hideous attacks. The subsequent disclosures stunned the world...

hi crazy_poster.yes it is quite possible, you know what i live in india and indian government came to know about this when the perpetrator emailed government highly confidential defense secrets which were accessible to authorized personells only.biological attack like anthrax can still be prevented but prevention cyber attack requires super cyber security at least better than those who make duplicate and cheap things in the world.

Well in the first 9/11, America(ns) couldn't see planes traveling in the wrong directions for more than two hours, so what hope have they of seeing a cyber attack coming?
But it isn't just America is it? Cyber attacks happen already everywhere. No one is immune. Are you waiting for a big one? How big? I feel that, just like 9/11, we cannot imagine what will happen. It will be beyond belief. Everyone will be saying, "I never knew computers COULD do that!" It wont be America, India or Russia - it will be the world!

I do believe that there is great threat in the idea of a cyber attack. However, I don't know that I believe that the complete logistics for something like this are already in place. In the future there is going to be an attack that happens because of the developments in the technological arena. The thing is, I don't really think that we are there just yet. But hey, I really could be wrong when it comes to that.

Well why not, with the advancement of technology the new danger for this world is the technology itself. Also it has been made very clear that the World War III will be a cyber war. Also many countries have already been forming their cyber army secretly and getting themselves ready for any such war.
If that will happen, the result will be horrible, really horrible.
So just hope that nothing like such happen.

Downsizing things to the real micro level at the t-road junction. What if all the four traffic lights go green at the same time?
I hate to think the likes happening with the mass rapid transit systems, the flights, the train lines, the hospitals and so on...
Cyber attack is real. I hope there would be more international cooperation to look into this.

Despite some of the inaccuracies in the last die hard movie it does a pretty good job of explaining how a digital 911 could happen in theory. It would never be as simple as the movie depicts but yes it could happen if one of the more technologically advanced countries that didn't like us decided to put its brightest computer nerds all in one place I'm sure they could figure something out...look how easy it is to get spyware and viruses on regular computers even with antivirus and malware blocking software.
