I have never been a big fan of Croc shoes but I was recently persuaded to buy a pair. Clutching my £10 I raced to the sports store where they were selling a variety of Crocs in the sale. Spying a racy pair of redduns, not really my colour, I quickly bought them and came home. Although they were chiefly to wear in the garden they started to have journeys further afield. Mostly to the store where I noticed people giving them admiring glances. Maybe my purchase wasn't so awful after all. One day I glanced down and could have sworn that I saw Mickey Mouse in the holes that ventilate the top of the shoes. Closer inspection revealed that they do indeed look like Mickey's ears and then I spotted the magic word "Disney" on the heel of the shoe. I had bought children's Crocs! But what the heck, they are comfortable. Have you ever purchased something that wasn't quite what you thought that it was?

hi p ikey oh yes and nobody but nobody thought it was not a long evening dress. I and I belonged to a womens orgainization called Royal neighbors, a secret order based on the eight graces. we had to go to three state
Royal Neighbors reunion and I was Faith and needed a long evening gown. I was just fifteen and all the evening gowns we saw were styled for very mature women so I was prowling around and found the most beautiful nightgown which was a heavy white satin with a lot of lace trim all over it . It did look like a wedding dress to me, and the clerk said it did look like an evening gown not a nightie so with this and a long slip I went to the reunion, I w as complemented over and over for my beautiful gown and nobody ever knew it was actully an nightie made for a b rides wedding night. So I bet you probably got some compliments too on your comfy shoes.

You should be congratulated for being a canny shoe buyer. I head straight for the kids´ section of shoe shops as you pay less there! And of course Crocs have to the most wonderful shoe innovation since laces. I wear mine constantly. In winter they provide a nice insulating layer as they´re foam, and in summer they have great ventilation.

Hi there p1kef1sh
Hang on a minute p1key!! What size shoe do you take? Do you honestly think that they make kids shoes in your size? Come, come now p1key!! I did it recently actually, I bought the boys ties for a wedding and bought them all different ones on closer inspection I noticed that the weird splodges on one of them were in fact skulls. Thinking that it wasn't suitable for a wedding a took it back and replaced it with the safer option of stars!! I have a pair of imitation Crocs and they are so handy to just slip on if you are indeed popping out but they seriously make my feet stink regardless of having washed them several times, have even taken a shower in them to no prevail!

I am not entirely sure what kind of shoes Crocodiles wear, but I am pretty sure that I do not want to own a pair no matter how "stylish" they may be. First, I don't think that they would be very comfortable, I mean our feet are not exactly shaped the same as a crocodile's foot. Second, I would hate to run into a crocodile that had a similar pair as I did ... how embarrassing - that would be like wearing matching dresses to a party. Third, and most important, I would not want a crocodile to think that I had stolen his or her shoes if I was wearing a similar pair, especially since I am pretty sure that I would be on the losing end of that altercation.

I suspect that is why they have those holes in their shoes - it lets the water run out, so they are not as heavy and such a bother to walk in with all that squishing noise, and it keeps their feet from getting as wrinkled, because the holes let the air in to dry out their feet. That also explains the plastic-like material as well, because it does not soak up the water like other materials. Now, they just have to find a matching handbag, and they will be all set.

I love Crocs they are so comfortable and I like to wear them all the time even in winter. They aren't the prettiest shoe that is for sure..but It is all the comfort matters. Ah, to cute, Yeah, I have bought stuff that wasn't what I thought it was I am sure we all have. I actually ended up with a pair of men's blue croc's by accident..lol but I wore them even though they were big..until I got another pair which were pink..so no mistake..

Where did you get them? I am so not a fan of Crocs but I wonder how small your feet must be to accidentally purchase a pair of child's shoes! And was it REALLY an accident? :P
Anyway, in answer to the question, I am sure I have purchased many things which weren't what I thought they were but it's usually just things like buying conditioner thinking it was shampoo, never anything like your shoes! I have heard that those Crocs are comfortable but I think they look a bit silly, especially on blokes! The worst one though, I saw a boy wearing some as school shoes. I wouldn't have thought that was acceptable. I don't think they're all that sturdy and I would be worried they'd fall off every five minutes!

What, no picture??? LOL
The most irritating purchases for me is in buying software online. Machine requirements, if included with the description, are rarely complete. I've now learned to go to the manufacturers website first, mostly because of the games and applications that I've bought in the past that didn't work for me. And, once they're opened (to find out they don't work), they aren't even returnable. I'd rather have the Disney crocs. Do they come in heels?

Well at least it's not just me who thinks Crocs are comfortable. Actually I am guilty of buying those fake or imitation Crocs on bargain. I simply couldn't afford the real thing. Please don't report me.

Oh Mickey Your'e so fine!
That is a great story. I needed a laugh this morning!
I have never gone for these shoes either although I have noticed that they are particularly popular and people do swear by them. I will have to choose wisely if I do purchase a pair though, just in case I get the Disney ones also. It could have been worse, you could have gotten the Daisy Duck or Minnie Mouse ones!
I have never purchased anything that was not what I thought it was that I can recall. I usually leave it to my wife to make those mistakes! A classic of hers is that she decided that she wanted to get into roller-blading, so she went out, spoke to a salesman and came home with a $350 pair of roller blades. She then had all sorts of difficulties learning the sport, gave herself lots of grazing and bruising and then she discovered that the roller blades were not for learners. They were in fact designed for people who are quite advanced at the sport.
12 years later, they are still sitting unused in the cupboard!

Yes, I did. When I was inclined to buy imitations. But they are not look good. I realized that it is better to buy something that has not that good brand or just patronizing local brands is far better than buying imitations. I don't want to do it anymore. It makes me sick and look crap.
