Farmers are eyes of our country. They are great men who providing us food. But nowadays farmers are reducing more. Its not profitable now. None want to get losses and it becoming risk. So many disadvantages. And also youngsters are not intersted in that. So they moving to cities for job. Even they are ready to work in construction companies and not in farm land. What do you think about this issue? How to encourage youngsters in farming and how to make it profitable?

Hi, I just notices some of your topics which found interesting and regardless of its time, I feel say few words on this topic. What you mentioned here is a real fact and we are losing our farmers and the new generation is not at all interested in farming. We cannot blame them to an extent because of various reasons. Most of the youngsters, once they come out of school or college, their life style changes and the parents won't compel them into agriculture. Again, the land levels, nature agriculture, the dedication and interest on farming and many factors have been changed since long time. It is now the main intention is to crop for money and not for satisfaction or better results. Increased use of pesticides, cost and wage levels, unexpected natural calamities and water resources, government policies and many more factors are totally changing time to time. I was a good farmer and spend a good time for it. Unwillingly I moved to town and working for the company for a long period of time. But still now, in most of the end of the day, before sleep, I would dream (not in sleep) about doing the agriculture at my native village. Even now also I am so thirsty to for it and some time I used think, one day I will resign the job and turn back to my ever dream agriculture jobs with freedom and pleasure. Unfortunately, not enough land to do all and that may be the reason why I am so longing for the same. We can expect the new generation will realise the necessity of agriculture and our govt. must promote the same with required importance and favouring for the same. Like to write much more, but you may be aware more of it and not interested to be more talkative. Thank-s

Yeah this is never end topic i feel too. One more point i wanted to add. Now most of the youngsters addicted to modernized world. They becoming westernized. They run behind money and more for stylish life with all facilities. I guess that is the major reason. They think it as a prestige issue.

Still now we are lucky that we are self sufficient for many of the food grains. Many States are having facilities of inter state transactions of goods and materials and many are still importing. Assume that after a 100 years, what would be the result. Most of the places are eaten up by more and more constructions and new flats or homes and roads and other deployments. The area for cultivating land also getting minimised at the same time the number of population is rapidly increasing too. If this ratio goes up, we all can imagine the future. And our earth has still millions of years of life and what could be the solution for the food for the increasing population? As you may be aware, in India our population is dynamically increasing and event the Govt. or the people are also still not so serious about the dangerous situations. I think we need to get experience to realise the real fact. So, we all can wait and see. Thank-s

A country like India whose backone of the economy is farming should not neglet the agricultural sector. It is because of the government that the farmers cannot take risk management, the money goes to the pocket of the big fishes so less work is done. Nautral disasters like flood are becoming more powerful and the concerned departments should act to cause less casulties to such kind of disasters and sort more ways to prevent it.

Nowadays, everything needs to be commercialized in term of generating profitable revenue especially when we're expecting high ROI (Return On Investments. Agriculture sector is not excluded and it also depends on the structure of governing system. Secondly, it must be supported by effective industrialization technology in commercializing from whole to a part as well as from a part to whole. Thirdly, keep on using the 'old' conventional method (small scale per land owner) in growing up agriculture sector is no longer a profitable method as results speaks itself in many countries. Finally, it's up to the government in one country to beef up its governing system to establish and implement new policy for short term, mid-term, and long term. An example for short term, farmers have to shift plantation method to hydrophonic system. Yeah! for sure many readers will argue with my stats at the above paragraph by saying it's an expensive method or system to be implemented by common farmers, isn't it? Not affordable (they said) to get it started or initiated. My answer is the government has various agencies related to agricultural managing, handling and control. There are many scientists working in these areas of bailiwick and they've to think and do research in looking for economical way of doing it. No point having the so called educated ministries but they unable to think what is the best for the people who voted them in general election.

In many developed countries, any losses incurred can be insured against &/or written off through the tax system. Some countries like the USA & Europe have big government subsidies to support & protect farmers from fluctuating international markets. Other farmers form massive bulk handling co-operatives. Farming is generally not something one ventures into lightly without any supporting structures in place. My family, for example, have been farming in South Australia since 1836 when the state was first opened up for paid settlement. Farmers need to have a lot of supporting capital & diverse means of acquiring more & saving more, plus they need to be conversant with the systems designed to support their endeavors & be in a position to act on them. Farmers generally do not farm the land for the money they could make. Many just love the lifestyle & couldn't think of a better way or a more fulfilling way to live their lives. Even in the best years, my father never made more than about two dollars a week from farming. Farming is very high - maintenance & farmers often find themselves doing chores that do not directly earn any money at all.

ya farmers are decreasing in our country. many people need office jobs. the profit that a farmer gets for a farmer is very less. when you pay Rs. 15-20 for one litre of water you will be thinking to pay Rs. 20-30 for a litre of milk so who are making the life of farmers miserable? our culture has been deviating and should come back to orginal form then only farmers can live.

i think this is the half truth..!! it will not happen in future that there will be no farmer in the the india..!! but yes somewhere farming is gradually decreasing in india..!!it is due to fsrmers who are facing problems regarding farming in the india..!!if you look at punjab side, farmers are very rich enough to farm different types of cash crops..!!but if we look at the situation in maharashtra and similar regions we found that they are very poor farmers and are not able to do farming proerly due to lack of money..!! so they are looking for other sources to earn the money..!!and i think that is the reason farming decreasing day by day..!!i think the solution is we should give more and more financial support to such farmers...!!
