Did you know that PetSmart is having their annual adoption weekend for the US and Canada this weekend? http://www.petsmartcharities.org/events-news/adoption-events/sept2010-adoptevent.html Do you check out the adoption events at your local pet store? This is a huge one, lots of groups, so if you're looking for a pet, or a place to volunteer, check it out. How many businesses do you know about that do charity events like this? Do you participate? Is it Friday yet?

It is Friday, but I do not do the adoption events, as I would want to take everyone home with me. We also do not have a PetSmart in town or really close by. Hubby has things planned for me to attend tonight and tomorrow, whether I want to or not. We have a dog swimming day at the end of the summer--Party in the Bark, I think, as a fund raiser for our local Humane Society.

Cary's having his birthday party tomorrow morning. Busy weekend. Yeah, I fall in love with too many of the cats we adopt out, but I guess that's the nature of the beast.

Oops, sometimes you have to be fast. Probably won't be another discussion today, I'm about to take my daughter to a checkup...

our local shelter does "two-fers" occasionally..and sometimes "golden oldie" adoptions. i think the petco also has adoption days, but most of their pets are overflow from the shelter,so when one does it,the other does.

we have a discount for two, a senior discount for senior pets, and sometimes specials on retired mommies (during kitten season) and black cats....

I saw that I think on a commercial. We don't volunteer but I believe one year we just happened to go when they were having one, either that or it was another organization doing it at Pets Mart. We've got enough with the three we do have, but I do like to go pet the animals.

that is a good cause.I believe that the more you give, the more your receive.these companies support animals who can't even voice out their pains, needs, and wants.they will receive a lot of things in return for their good cause.I would probably adopt pets if I can go there.if I do have my own company,I will probably have programs for my employees who have pets, like a pet day-care center or pet parties.

yeah, sadly it was a disappointing weekend, we actually did fewer adoptions than usual...

I'm glad that some found homes, but it was kind of a waste. We had all those extra volunteers there, and then it ended up being slower than usual.

don't feel bad.be happy and thankful that some dogs/cats found their home.I pray that their new families treat them well.

I'm a little bit behind on the times, so, unfortunately, no it isn't Friday yet (oh how I wish it was). However, I do know that there are some local places that do charity events and I try to make it to them when I have the opportunity. However, I also don't always have that opportunity. We've adopted some pets from the local shelter, but most of the pets that we have in our family are owner give-up pets. I love them just the same though.

I already have my limited number of cats, so I cannot adopt anymore cats, but I do go and visit the adoption center when I can.
