Are you a group thinker or an individual thinker?

There are good things to say about both group thinkers and individual thinkers and both are needed in society for different reasons. Please share about your preferred style of thinking, the way that you like to work, working independently or in a team, thinking in ways that foster the cohesiveness of a group and continuity or acting as an original thinker who sometimes shakes things up and brings about change. I think I am mostly an individual thinker... Looking at the way I act, writing poetry, writing song lyrics, cartooning, etc., I tend to create individually. I also am a therapist and work collaboratively with my clients but I am working alone in sessions with my clients and do not clear what I do with anyone nor do I work in a team although there are other therapists to consult with should I need to. Yet, I'll admit that when I am with someone I am dating, I defer often in an attempt to have more cohesion. And I never, in any role, really want to shake things up and bring about change just for the sake of change.

I always liked to shake things up at home I think I am the individual thinker but when I was working I worked with a group of people but to I was alwso the leader for I would have ot think of ways to keep them busy if work slowed down while we wee waiting for parts

Ah so you were the group leader at work and at home you are the individual thinker... Sounds like you lead no matter where you are. Thanks for commenting.

If that is about brain storming then I would prefer into group thinker wherein I could still share my ideas to be more creative. If that is for my own project then of course I would consider myself as an individual thinker.

Ah, thanks for responding as you point out the need for both ways of thinking... Brainstorming in groups and creating individually.

Hi whiteheron, I am definitely an individual thinker and enjoy discussing my opinions but only with someone with an open mind, as I don't believe that we must all think alike. I also enjoy writing, especially poetry and short stories. Blessings.

I prefer to work alone on most projects, however, sometimes it is good to get input from other people, especially if it is something you don't know a whole lot about, or if it is something that you have been thinking about for a while, but cannot come up with a solution to the problem on your own...

I personally am an individual thinker. Individually I work at my own pace, and thus control the quality of my work. You can't really do that in group thinking/working. That doesn't mean group thinking isn't fun, however.

Thanks for commenting... I wish you much success and happiness in your work... and the joys of group thinking when you feel like indulging in them.
