Genres of video games are very familiar: Action, Adventure, Strategy, RPG, MMORPG, ...
With growth and expansion of MMORPG Games, some of MMO Sub-genres are more commonly used now such as Fantasy and Sci-Fi. That's not all though. I look for a comprehensive list of sub-genres for MMORPG Games with a good classification.

Hey Tahamtan, I'm sorry, but I'm not completely sure what you mean.
I'll help you to the best of my abilities.
From what I know, Fantasy MMORPGs are usually set in a medieval time period with interesting plots.
Sci-fi MMORPGs are like fantasy MMORPGs, except they usually have a bit of magic touch with them.
There are FPS (first person shooter) role playing games, which is self-explanatory.
There are sport mmorpg games, such as fantasy tennis 2 and Empire of sports.
There are racing mmorpg games that usually have a lesser graphic quality than the popular Need For Speed games.
There are rhythm games like Guitar Hero, but I'm not sure if that's an mmo.
There are also management and social games, such as Farmville from Facebook.
I hope I have helped, don't hesitate to ask if you want to know anything more.
