I beg to disagree. Although I'm not a huge fan of samurai x, I like to the principles kenshin showed.
He maybe a joker but his character shows acceptance and self forgiveness which can be a trouble for some people.
I like it that kenshin strive to live because he wanted to change the bad things he had done in the past.

I prefer the series than the movie. I'm a big fan of this anime. I love the way Kenshin changes his mood from a stupid looking samurai to a serious and lethal one. I also love the opening and ending song. Those are really great anime soundtrack.

it's because the story of the series is the turning point of kenshin's life. he decided to live a life of "no killings" so he's character should be a joyous and harmonious man like he was trying his best to embrace the importance of life. but there are parts in the series that he seemed to snap and nearly become the batousai again

I really love this anime. And I feel that Kenshin jokes to forget his past, which was so disturbing and bloody. Kenshin also teach us to be good and avoid fighting.

I'm for the reverse. I like the funny but principled Kenshin in the series. The kenshin in the movie looks like he need a shrink when in contrast, he has created a family on his own. I kinda feelo sorry for Kauro in the movie, being left alone to take care of a small child while her husband goes away to who-knows-where.
