There were many virus softwares to defend the invasion of variety of virus. Those software might perform scheduled scanning, and system checking. If they found infected file, they might ask you to remove them to stop further infection. So, if they removed those infected files, the Windows system might not function well, don't you think? So, what is the best way to clean those virus if one's system really infected with it? Would it be better to back up your important information, and format your hard disk, then reinstall the operating system you originally have?

Actually, what kind of virus defending system do you use? I am curious about it. I don't want to format the hard disk, and re - install the system over again.

I use NOD32 anti virus and I already use it for so many years and my computer run smoothly. I also use Ccleaner and it is also the best cleaner for me to clean my computer.

I agree with you on backing up the important files but the other methods are somewhat redundant as those are last minute operations. In order to prevent such inconvenience and redundancy, we should always scan our computer using the anti-virus's scheduled scan, and do it everyday. If you are not satisfied, I recommend Trend Micro's free Housecall scan and it's a very very powerful free scanning tool online.

I use the Kaspersky antivirus, so I have little problems with viruses. Often it catches everything before actually they do something harmful.
But, before, I've been infected by viruses. In the first places, if the antivirus let the virus enter, it will rarely be able to do anything against it. The best is to get another antivirus, update it and let it run. But often I found myself removing the virus manually, when I found some rare beavior on the system. I check the startup files, many times there is a file that should not be there. The procces explorer is a good help to catch those. And the rest of info can be easily found in internet.

Best way is to reinstall the operating system but make sure that you back up your files. Preventing your computer from accessing untrusted site that might contain virus and spyware. UPdating your security software with the latest definition that would help my system detect any unwanted software.

It is easier to clean up a virus sometimes. I have redone my hard drive two times this year and it is frustrating! Now I back everything up even though it is saved on the computer too.

Well I use Avast Antivirus software and I must say its one of the best antivirus. Its very quick in catching even the smallest threat and protects my computer very nicely. I run full system scans periodically which are also good for keeping your computer safe from viruses. I know there are some antivirus softwares which deletes some important files from the registry and your computer creates problem. Actually I have been a victim of one such anti virus and that was Norton. It deleted some files from my registry and my computer went mad. So i had to reinstall the windows in my computer. But now I am using avast from a pretty long time and there is no such problem.
Of course creating a back-up and then formatting the hard disk is an option but it takes a lot of time and is pretty complex.

I use Microsoft Security Essential Antivirus for my laptop. It is created by microsoft and is reliable. It is also free to use on any Windows machine. I is also fast in scanning and doesn't slow down the pc during scanning.
Antivirus doesn't necessarily delete or remove the infected file. I can even remove the virus without removing the file, so that the pc can work as it should.

There is no the best way to this kind problem, once infected, however , we may do something to defend them in advance.
First make sure your security software including antivirs and antipyware programs are updated on at least once a day.
Second, ensure that your security tools antivirus or antispyware software capable to protect your computer from infections.
Third use CD-R removable storage drive, online storage solution or other types of media to backup your fils and important doccuments.

I think no antivirus can guarantee you that after installing that no virus will be able to do any intrusion. I think about anti virus the most important thing is to update them properly and after that they must be used all the time. I do generally a scan even a full system scan. If problem is not solved. I try to restore the system and after this even in bad condition I do a format if needed.

You can do two thing to clean up those virus. The first one is you need to reformat your computer and or the main drive where the OS is been installed. Now to protect your computer from such virus attack create a system restore point after you have reformat your computer and finished installing all the program you needed. Do this before you insert any flash drive or connect to the internet so you must ensure that you have all what you need in CD. Whenever your computer has been attacked by virus always restore it to the time you have reformatted your computer.
