the stupid gene

having just come from a discussion where somebody seemed to think a negative character trait was associated with one race and a positive one with another, which astonishingly happened to be theirs, i was wondering about other character traits. now the stupid gene does appear to be pretty widespread and not confined to any one area or race. however how on earth does it get passed on? how come the unfortunate carriers don't try and play with tigers, electrocute themselves or walk off cliffs before they have children? it is one of the big mysteries of our time. anyone have any explanations?

Hi little bunny,
They are not born with this gene. It is in the tap water. It has be scientifically proven that if you don't drink the water and only drink spring water then you and your children will be much more intelligent. There is a bacteria common in all tap water that alters the composition of brain cells and creates what we have come to know as stupidity. If you stop drinking it early enough on then the brain cells will more than likely return to their original state. If not, however, the resulting damage will become permanent.

it has of course been scientifically proven that if you believe this then the intelligence of you, and possibly your children, needs attention. however since there isn't much that can really be done the rest of us might as well buy shares in bottled water companies and make the most of it.

That would mean that I should be surrounded by geniuses (most of my friends here have blue eyes) and after having helped one of them with some math today, I'm pretty sure that's not the case :-)
And where does it leave those of us who have neither blue nor brown eyes? ;-)

my biology teacher did that one once. i think it was the other way round though. oh yes, it must have been the other way round, he had brown eyes. he explained it rather badly afterwards. he liked wasting our time. and torunn people who have other colours of eyes, in particular green, go beyond even genuis. they are REALLY clever.

Luck keeps them alive and their stupidity keeps them reproducing.

You are a little bit wrong precious blue bunny as regretfully, they do reproduce and the children then marry their siblings or first cousins - or something incestuous so that the line continues and the stupid gene flourishes and multiplies.
If you identify bone then stay clear or your day will be ruined. Please can you pm me a link as it is raining in paradise and I have a spare hour - long enough to cause some mischief - before I go to the hairdresser.
Walks off singing: we all live in a yellow submarine
Thinks: Perhaps we could put them in a yellow submarine and have a farewell party? I will bring the rum

Hello Judith. The stupid gene will always perpetuate, because it's an evil plan for world domination by moths. They put a protective force field around stupid people until they've had at least half a dozen children.
Normal people like you and me don't get the protective force field, so the unfortunate truth is that in 205 years, 6 months, 3 weeks and 4 days, stupid people will rule the earth, and the moths will come in and take over the planet.I hope I don't live to see the day.
They've already wiped out all the sensible people in British and American politics, and there are hardly any sensible politicians in Spain. Be afraid, be very afraid ...

I've just been observing a very intelligent stick insect, nowhere near as scare as moths. Being normally brown to resemble a stick this one had turned itself into a choice pine colour to match the wood it was sticking too. Very elegant I thought.
JB I have left PE in your hands and its full of the lack of humour and wit it used to have - apart from the observent observation that having green eyes makes me a genius.

must you bring moths into everything sandra? we have told you a million times before that no, the moths are not stealing your vodka, they are not infiltrating the world's governments, and they most certainly are not building force fields around stupid people. they don;t have the time, because what they are doing is FAR darker, more sinister and scarier

For some reason it seems that the stupid gene makes people produce more children than those without it.
Maybe that's why I'm going to be an aunt in november? It's that stupid, orange gene.
The brother-in-law of a friend of mine imported a bride from Russia. They only got two til now, but she has planned to continue having children so she doens't have to work or do anything sensible. This includes taking care of the children, the mother-in-law does that. It also includes drinking lots of vodka while pregnant.
I suppose the stupid gene is a very resilient gene. It wants to survive, so it makes sure it's bearers know how to reproduce before they get themselves killed.

Orange and orange would indeed be bad. Especially if the kids was a bit on the round side, it'd look like a real orange. Small, round and orange.
And I suspect she is the kind of person who will dress a girl in only pink and a boy in only blue. I think it's quite stupid (especially as I don't really like pink or pastel blue) and none of the colours will look very good with orange.
*points to telly* More people are killed by fog every year in Britain than by any other weather (at least Stephen Fry says so). I'm thinking that might be fog and the stupid gene. Fog in itself isn't really very dangerous.

Some people know their genetic make up and try not pass on their genes to others, but some people don't know there genetic make up and they do pass their genes on to the next generation and the next generation suffers for it.
Genes are kind of a mystery. They are random, and certain genes appear and certain genes don't.

I think it's more a case of nurture rather than nature. All people are born equal but I guess it's the parents who rear these silly people. It's quite unfortunate, I wish stupidity was a terminal illness. Then maybe people would stop being stupid.
I too had an episode with an (ex) friend who totally took what I said out of context and asked me if I feel high and mighty up on my ivory tower. It not only offended me, as I am NOT racist but it made me realise how even intelligent people can sometimes be so dam stupid sometimes! Oh well, as long as there are un-stupid people in the world we'll keep going.

The people are stupid, but the instinct to reproduce is controlling them just long enough to pass it along....

There is at least one book out there which states that stupidity is perhaps adaptive.

There is an assumption that the modern man survived because of his intelligence when the Neanderthals perished... Yet the modern man was probably not any smarter than the Neanderthals. So much for the belief that intelligence is a product of evolution.

Stupidity is something that Einstein said was infinate in the human race... Everyone acts stupidly at times..One message board has people admitting their lapses into Stupidland...

Some people do not survive their acts of stupidity. This website celebrates the people who sacrifice themselves for the sake of the gene pool, according to the website.

there is no gene for stupidity.
thinking that there is, is in itself a sign of stupidity.

Dogs have different genes too. Some look good, some have long hair, some don't. Some are large, some small. But, they all pee the same way on a lamp poll or a tree!! They are all dogs after all! And we, to them are HUMANS!! The most reckless, selfish, discriminating, oddest creatures walking on two legs.
They probably imagine us burning in hell!
