What is your favorite sandwich?

I absolutely love eating and making sandwiches. I love grilled cheese. I usually put mozzarella cheese and cheddar between sourdough slices. I lightly coat the outside with salted butter, then I grill the sandwich! I also enjoy toasted cucumber sandwiches - with the crusts cut off!
If I'm in the mood for more "complex" sandwich-making, I mix meat and fruits. Or I put an entire salad into a sandwich. I really like lots of herbs and onions and tomatoes. I once deep fried a macaroni-and-cheese sandwich. It was... good... but it was also a heart attack waiting to happen. It is really fun to experiment with the different breads and meats and condiments.
I am curious, what sandwiches do you like eating or making?

Lately I love the subs at Harris Teeter. They are 12 inches long and on Friday you can order ANY one for only 3.99. We buy 4 every Friday night and have them for dinner. I bring a half sub for my lunch on Saturday and the kids share one on Saturday. It is fresh and delicious! Before that we would go to Jimmy Johns, Quiznos, or Subway

I like their philly cheese steak sandwich and their club. I have them put roastbeef ham turkey and cheese on my club. I tried their sausage and peppers last night and was not impressed.
The bread is what makes it great. it is similar to the breads up in NY

I suppose I am going to sound real boring compared to your sandwich making abilities. I like to just have turkey and cheese on bread, or grilled cheese. I have put pepper jack cheese on a sandwich before. When I go to a sandwich shop I go a little out there, green peppers, pickles, cucumbers and tomatoes are usually put on the sandwich I order. I like different breads when out, but at home it's either white or wheat, but usually just white bread.

I like to eat grilled cheese sandwiches every once in a while. I guess my favorite would be a homeade chicken salad sandwich. I cook my chicken and then tear it up in pieces and add pickle cubes, craisins, mandarin oranges, and mayo. I love eating it on sourdough bread but if I don't have that then I just eat it on honey wheat bread. Typing this makes me want to make some homeade chicken salad tomorrow. lol

I like the sound of that grilled cheese sour dough sandwich. For me I like bacon sandwiches with brown sauce or a fried egg sandwich, both of which are seriously unhealthy but so delicious.

The brown sauce in question is a speciality here in the UK, often known as HP sauce as well. It's a fruity, tangy sauce which goes perfectly with bacon, here's a link to wiki for more info on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HP_Sauce

My favorite sandwich is a roasted veggie sandwich..peppers, onions, mushrooms, carrots and zucchini..topped with fresh basil and herb mayo. I could eat it every single day. I'm also a big fan of Subway oven roasted chicken.

I love to make sandwiches too. My favorite sandwich to make is what my grandmother used to call "Southern Fried Hamburger" (sloppy joes) I also like to make peanut butter and jelly, and peanut butter sandwiches. When I go out, I love McDonald's Filet o Fish, Wendy's grilled chicken, some little Mom and Pop store's sloppy joes, and Berardi's grilled chicken (which is better than Wendy's. Berardi's also have some of the best thick french fries and they have a stand again at Cedar Point Amusement Park.)

Hi, romania2. I love eating sandwiches of many kinds. I love tuna on honey wheat bread. I also love to put two slices of cheese in between the breads too. I also love eating fried scrambled eggs in my sandwich too. I usually will make a toast and add turkey and chicken meat to the bread. I love having melted cheese on this bread as a toast.

Hi there, well i am not choosy when it comes to sandwich. A simple peanut butter will make my sandwich delicious already. But make sure that the sandwich is toasted. Although i also tried other sandwich but still peanut butter is good one for me. I dont really prefer sandwich with lots of condiments inside i dont know why

Yeah, I like sandwiches, and I make them from time to time, and also eat them at restaurants sometimes. Right now, my favorites are probably roastbeef sandwiches, and also salmon sandwiches with some salmon and cream cheese, so yummy!

I love the Mcdonalds Fish O Fillet. I fell in love with it the first time i sinked my teeth into one and have never wanted to try any other sandwich since. In India there is not many places, where you can get good sanwiches, unless you make one yourself. Fish or fillet is the BESTEST!

Yes, McDonald's Fish Fillet is the best. I also like Burger King's fish sandwiches although they are nothing like McDonald's.

I'm a basic person.
Cheese on it's own, it can't be beat and when I want to change or mix something up I either toast it or simply add ham. I'm not really one of those people who like everything throw into my sandwiches.
Very rarely does mine not have cheese in, I am a cheese nutter through and through.

My grandson had a really tasty idea. Remember to put it inside. Ten just cook as normal. Its very good. Another thing i like to do is take a slice of cheese and spread peanut butter on it then fold it in half. Cheese and peanut butter go together as good as chocolate and peanut butter.

Oh boy! I love cheese! Especially mozzarella. I want to try out blue cheese one day, if I have the chance. But my favourite sandwich is still the one with tuna and lettuce. That one tastes the best in my opinion. Another one would be sandwich with fried egg between. Plain like this and if the yolk is half uncooked, the flavour would be much better!

The whole time I was reading your comment, I kept saying YES to every point you were making! I also like a fried egg with a runny yolk in my sandwich. Tuna and lettuce is good... but I add mango to that sandwich also. I like it that way. You should definitely try blue cheese! For sandwiches, I put blue cheese with something really spicy hot. It's great!

I love eating sandwiches of all kinds. Probably my favorite would be a great sub, or hoagie, as we called them where I grew up. It would need to have mortadella, genoa salami, provolone cheese, and all the trimmings, oil and vinegar, oregano, add mayonnaise, cherry peppers on the side.
I also love a great Philly cheese steak, with peppers, onions, mushrooms, provolone, marinara sauce, parmesan cheese, oregano, garlic. There was also a steak hoagie where I grew up. A great cheesesteak also adds broccoli rabe to the mix.
I also like chicken salad, tuna salad and variations of those, e.g chicken salad and ham salad double decker, tuna salad and sliced egg, or egg salad.
Grilled cheese is great, with lots of variations; sometimes I add tomato, mayonnaise, and fresh basil.
Good deli sandwiches include corned beef "special", roast beef, and pastrami and chopped liver combos. Then there's the classic ham and cheese.
Smoked salmon and cream cheese with onion, tomato, and capers is great.
I also like peanut butter and jelly on raisin bread, and cream cheese and jelly, and boucheron goat cheese and jalapeno jelly.
Let's not forget the great cheeseburger and hot dog variations, as well as the classic sweet Italian sausage with peppers and onions.
And how about a great meatloaf sandwich, cold with mayo, or hot with gravy, hot roast beef and turkey - not as easy to eat if open-faced.
A particular favorite of mine is also turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce served cold with mayo on a wheat bread or roll.
There are so many more; all are yummy. But, the best part for most of them is that they are easy to eat and "handy".

We have a lot of common favorites. Smoked salmon and cream cheese, in particular, is a sandwich I eat with much gusto! Grilled cheese, philly cheese steak, almost everything you wrote made me say YES! I'm glad that you posted all of that. You really are a sandwich-lover (like myself).

Yum yum! I love any type of sandwich as long as it has lots of cheese. I also wouldn't mind what type of bread is it as long as mayo is everywhere. This is a very good topic. I would also love it with meat, ham and chicken.. Simple but I love it.. :)
