I have all the electrical things in my home insured, aswell as the electrics and water pipes and heating insured. They do say that you never know how good an insurance company is until you need them.My emursion tank is leaking and thankfully it is insured,i have up to £1000 cover for that to be put right, thankfully, plus i do not have to pay the excess like most companys charge, well worth the money.

i live in a council house so i don't need building insurance, but i do have contents insurance, which i'm so glad i have as a couple of weeks ago i dropped my laptop, without my insurance i wouldn't have been able to get another one,i know someone who didn't have any contents insurance, like me they live in a council house, they had a kitchen fire and have had to replace loads of things including the bedding and carpets upstairs because of smoke damage,it's costing them a fortune,,my friend does'nt have any insurance and i've begged her to get some after what happened to our neighbour

This is a policy that i took out with my bank, nothing todo with buildings or contents insurance. This is a policy that is to insure up to a total of £1000 a year on my water pipes, heating, plumming, wiring, mobile phone, travel insurance, green flag in anyones car to get it sorted plus a host of many other things.Alot of insurance companys tend to charge an excess where as you have to pay the first £50 or £200 then they will pay the rest, with this it do not cost an excess at all, plus they are the ones that do all the paper work and ensure the work that is carried out.I have always had buildings aswell as contents insurance,in a council house they would only paint it magnolia, not a colour of your choice, thats why i have always had both, plus if it was my fault that a fire started and damaged a persons house or a person they can not take me to the cleaners.

I have never purchased insurance for any thing. except my car, and house. for the other items the money you spend on the insurance over the years would probably purchase a new item 3 or 4 times over. The only people making any money here is the insurance company.

I think that there are alot of people that do not ever put a claim in for anything to even use their insurance policy that they have paid in for all their lives, yet there are other people like me that are pleased that all my things are insured,as over the years i have claimed for a new washing machine, tvs, aswell as carpets.

lol =D really?? U did that?? I will never do that because it's pointless. Water pipes can be changed and are supposed to be changed when they break down. Even there's insurance, they will only be covering it once, after which, we will have to pay for any kind of repairs or maintianence of it. It's not worth the money. I wll rather be insuring for something else than things that usually break down.

I have contents & buildings; car and life insurance. I took accidental damage & 3rd party liability as optional extras. I never take the extended warranty they try to sell you on small electrical items because I dont think its worth the premium.

I only buy insurance on things that are required like house, health and car. I try to buy quality appliances that come with warranties. So far I feel I've saved a ton by not buying all the offered insurances.

Well, we have homeowners insurance that covers most of the things on the inside and the outside of the house that need to be insured. However, we don't have anything that we carry individual policies on because in the opinion of my husband and myself, that would really be nothing more than a waste of money. We've been lucky that we have never had to file a claim and I hope that we never do, but it is nice to have insurance, just in case.

U are so lucky. I'm not into insurance at all when it comes to such things in the house. All we have are just warranties. ONce those appliances are past their shelf life, failed on us, it will be time to buy a new set. Over here, we are more concerned about getting insurance for ourself than for other things. Insurance itself is not cheap, and so it's much wiser to insure ourself, treating it as a form of savings too.

What a lucky you with good insured company because you don't have to pay the excess, glad to hear this exclusion stats. Normally, the insurance company will stress on the excess value or amount stipulated in the policy once claim submitted.

Living in Florida, your central air conditioning unit is your most important appliance and replacing one can cost several thousand dollars so I have insurance on those and all of my major appliances in both homes we own. We also have homeowner's insurance to cover anything and everything else. It's always best to be prepared.

Do you have to insure each valuable item individually? We just get homeowners insurance and if there's something of particular value, like jewelry or furs, we schedule them.

I used to feel obligated to buy the insurance on products i bought. Nothing ever seemed to happen to go wrong with them until the time had passed for being insured. It just doesn't seem worth paying the extra cost.

I have a friend that has everything electrical insured and she has plumbing insurance. She uses it a lot and I have thought many times that I should do something like that, but it seems I never get around to it.

Hi, jugsjugs! I'm glad to hear that you have insured your leaking tank. The insurance system in the U.K. is really complete. It seems to have covered all the field in a person's life. We don't have such a good insurance system here in China.
