There's A Reason For Everything-Do You Believe This?

As a Christian, i was taught that "everything" happens for a reason and to be honest,in my opinion i just can't wrap my mind around this theory.I've tried many times to hold on to this belief that many Christians and other religions seem to adhere to, but it gets harder and harder for me especially when i see and hear about so many terrible things happening to people in this world today.Sometimes i think it's easier for people to believe this as a way to try and get through really rough times in their lives and i wish i could do the same but, take for example the 3000 lives lost on 9/11(which of course is today) what possible reason or purpose could that serve?people in the prime of life who did nothing more than go to work on that day, needlessly, tragically and callouly die and this is just one example but,not to have to go on, i would like to know if you believe EVERYTHING happens for a reason and most of alll WHY you believe this is so.

I believe things do happen for a reason. Instead of believing God's word, most people have bought into the world system. As a result, people have become afraid and mistrustful. Fear and mistrust causes those who don't have Christ living within them to do wicked things. Those who were the cause of 9/11 were either wicked people; or if they were lead to believe this was God's will, they were duped into believing a lie.

The 9/11 terrorists were just plain "evil" i don't believe you are taught or duped into being evil these people have no conscience whatsoever it's one thing to believe a lie it's quite another when you believe that lie to such an extent, you use it to kill innocent people who have never harmed you in any way. but i do believe God's word is very often just words to some people who just want to go their own way , ignoring things they were taught and choosing the wrong path.but a lot of the time it seems to me that there are no consequnces to some peoples behavior, they have free rein to go on doing all sorts of terrible things and their acts very often go unpunished.why While all along many good decent people who just want to lead a normal life seem find the mosr suffering and i just can't grasp the reason for all of this. thank you for your response

I do. I think God allows all things to happen, even those not so good not because He wants us to suffer, but because He wants us to learn from it. We probably might not see the reason why at the moment, but time will come we will, in God'd perfect time. God bless you!

Please try to read the book of Ecclesiastes so you will understand why many of us believe that there is a reason for everything. God allows to happen the many rough times in our lives for us to remember our Creator God. We tend to forget God if we are happy and continue sinning against HIM. Our God does not want us to go astray so by giving us sign, wonders even destruction to remember and call to Him.

yes could not have said it better my self... indeed god gives us a bit of sadness in life so we can remember him...
And you see happyness that stays for ever isnt really happyness... when sadness and grife comes.. we then understand the true value of happyness and god the only one who can help us...
so please try to remember god in all aspects of life.. as he is the one who made you capable of doing as such... as you can see there are many peole who are disable and cant do anything.. but god gave us soo many blessings ! we should thank him... but how much we think him it is still less infront of the great blessings he has given us.

Yes. I still believe that everything happens for a reason and that reason is for us to simply believe and trust GOD our savior for all the things which is happening in our lives. Many of us say that GOD will not give us problems if he knew that we can't handle it. Problems are there to strengthen our faith. To believe in our selves that we can overcome it.Through struggles in life, we learn new things, and we can use these experiences to face everything that comes on our way. Just keep the faith my friend and everything will be fine.

Well, you are at where you are now for a reason. There is a reason for everything. If you don't want where to be in your life, there is a reason for it. We life in a world of actions and reactions, when you sow, you will reap something. Example, You plant cabbage in you backyard, you will reap the cabbage. There is a reason why you reaped cabbage, and that is because you planted cabbage. Other example is when a fly drops to your nose, you will slap it, and the reason is because it landed at your nose. There are so much other examples, if you think of it carefully, everything has a reason.

In an addition,it had just proven the law of cause and effect. nothing happens without a cause. Why we are in this world is the effect of God's plan, what we become and contribute to our environment and other people definitely will have an effect, but I am pretty much sure that good cause begets good effect... let us therefore be a positive cause that will produce worthwhile effect to the world.

I believe that nothing happens by accident. We may not understand things as they happen, but as time goes by and we eventually heal we begin to see answers and understand the reason why things had to happen. The results or answers may not be what we want or expect it to be, but once we begin to accept these reasons or outcomes no matter how painful they are, healing begins.

...definitely!...everything has its own purpose and reason...however, it does not mean that we will have to know whatever it is...there are things which reason is better left unknown...i agree that some people is using this as a leeway for them during their hardest moment in life but i really believe this is true...all of the things you see around is a creation made by someone ( God or fellow human ), they have their own purpose..just take for example, you started a discussion here simply to know our point of view on this said topic..you want to know our ideas and thought about it..you might overlooked it but that alone is a reason why you posted this topic..i hope that helps you..=)
