about every 3rd new friend I approve, I go to my e-mail the next day and find they have filled up my inbox with 10 to 20 new discussions started
problem being, are they really going to answer/respond to all these? 9 times out of ten they dont
So, why do this? i mean, I, myself think of sometimes quite a few discussions in one day. but think enough of my friends to postpone some to another time.
So why do they do it? to top it off its usually one to 3 lines of discussion started. Thats the reason I go turn their notifier off!! dont you?

I have the same problem as you, as well as most of the members here. I just delete them. First: I don't really understand their discussions. It seems like a repetitive discussion with slightly changed title and wordings. Second: they do not bother to comment on our responses, or rating us or mark a best response. Third: They do not participate in our own new discussions (they are selfish).

Jennyze, you must be talking about the same person I was. How they make any earnings is beyond me. They could work a lot less and be more social and earn a lot more.

hi bunnybon7 I do so agree a nd some of them I really did delete as their every three minute discussions half were deleted as being of no consequence and even I could see that they were not discussing anything
but asking something like did you like school or what is your favorite color all can be answered in one or two words. Those usually are not
real discussions where you can actually use more than two or three
words to respond. Also even when they seem like they have not broke a
mylot rule. they really have and you will lose earning if you mistakenly
respond.

oh dont i know that!!
just look at how many times we make a mistake of answering one of those, then loose on it.
us that have been here a while can usually spot that. but now and then still slip up

Hi bunny, don't be cruel to your new friends. Still they are not so accustomed to intelligent discussions or responses. Once you will get sharp reply from them.If you response to their discussions they will fill encouraged. So be sympathetic to them.
Some day some of them will be your good friend.

I have turned the notifier off for some who start a ton of discussions, but answer none of them. Responding to those types of discussions isn't any more rewarding that talking back to the television...because you just aren't going to get a response.
I think my email provider starts throwing discussions into my spam folder too, just because of the volume. Or, maybe it's to see if I'm paying attention...who knows.
Enjoying your peace and quiet still?

These are usually new members who do this and have yet to learn the way things work. As by not commenting back to someone who responded does not mean they earn. Something so many do not get. But then find themselves feeling like they have put in too much effort and give up.
I try to help by shooting a personal message and well if they wish to learn great if they don't they end up leaving anyways.

Actually when I learned about myLot, what really got my interest was earning money, after asking my sister how to. Before I started responding and starting my own discussion, of course, I read through how others do it. You're right, others do the 'one liners'. Well, if I really just wanted to increase those digits next to my name and earn more, I should have done the same. But to think of it, I don't want to limit myself by doing so. So, rather than increasing those numbers, I'd would like to make my stay here worthwhile and more interesting by sharing much more sensible insights with others. :)

quality not quantity doesn't dawn on these people.
they think they're going to make more putting out 30 a day or something.
oh yea..if it's a lot of meaningless discussions,or if they spam me after
i add them, either i turn them off or delete them entirely.
they don't need to be blowing up my email like that.

Yes, I do! For me it is the ones who write me a PM saying how happy they are to be my friend and now if I would sign up for this or that. No! No! No! I don't accept friends anymore. Very rarely. I just get too much rediculous PM's from them and never hear from them discussion wise. They need to go else where for their little enterprises not here on Mylot. It is just wasted space as far as I am concerned where we could have some members who actually are here for the right reasons.

LOL. no Bunnybon.. I go 1 step further I remove them from my friends list.. I don't need them there for any reason.. ESPECIALLY if the are non responders..
But I know exactly what you mean.. I have had to 2 this 2-3 times in the last 3 weeks. It is getting ridiculous.. Maybe they should make a limit for newcomers on how many discussions they can start.. the same as they do with the copy/paste rule..

I agree with you Bon...I have been having the same problem lately. I can barely keep up with a few discussions per day let alone a flood of them. Not to mention the quality. I have been getting a few discussions lately that I am starting to wonder why I didn't screen this person before I accepted them as a friend. Oh well, I guess it makes for an interesting day huh? LOL

LOL, don't worry I won't turn the notifier off for you :-). I need saying I need to start a discussion once and a while, however, by the time I get through responding to all the discussions, I am tired. Have a great weekend.

i dont turn the notify off but filter it in my gmail lol.. then when im really behind i try to answer 1 email from the people that have a hundred posted.. when i was really into it here i had been known for posting 10+ a night on a busy night BUT ive noticed with the newbies they are making one subject stretch to make multiple discussions which drives me nuts! they take one topic and ask a question on one part of it and then make another discussion asking another question about the same thing just a different part which really it could have been combined and made a good size discussion and not one liners

Do I sound really terrible if I admit to the fact that I have my notifiers turned off on the vast majority of the people that are my friends on here? The reason that I do this is because I don't want my inbox to be constantly filled with notifications from mylot. But, on the other hand, I also normally feel very bad if I don't have the opportunity to respond to all of the discussions that my friends start.
As far as the discussions that I start, I try to limit it to one a day because that is all that I am actually able to keep up with.

They are probably thinking that they can make money faster by doing that, I would assume.
Though I don't understand why they would post that many a day?
I mostly respond to others and do a few tasks, and I think I get a fair amount of cents per day. I think these people are in the wrong place if they think by spamming mylot they are going to make big bucks.
I haven't came across these type yet, but if I do, I would probably just remove them all together.

That sounds quite annoying! Maybe you should talk to your friends about it? I only send messages of substance to my close friends, and include everything in paragraph form. That way I receive a nice letter back. I rarely send one-liners, unless that's all a response to something requires (to confirm a meeting, for example). One-liner messages between friends, though, are more suited to an instant messenger, rather than e-mail, I think.

well you see i get notified in my email from here if a friend starts a discussion and unless i turn off their notify here, i get all these email about their discussions. so, i was referring to mylot discussions.
you see? welcome my dear.
