What do you do in order to recycle your old clothes? Especially the one that obviously can't be use it anymore as it look like a rags already. Of course you can't even donate it for the poor people as they need to be clothed properly as well.
I am using it as a rags and that is actually very useful. Instead of spending money for the new rags I can do it on my old clothes.

If they are beyond ick they get tossed. If they are just stained I cut them into rags or donate it to a company that makes rags if they are deemed unusable for resale.

I have this idea if I can be able to recycle it like making bags, wallets or anything else then it is good to sell it.

I have a few meager sewing skills. i have turned jeans into a jean skirt once the ends of the jeans are in tatters, but the rest of the pants were in good shape. I have turned old shirts in grocery bags. Most of the time, I donate to the local thrift store. That way they are not sitting in a landfill taking up space. If they are my husbands old workout clothes, I turn them into dusting rags.

At least I got an idea from you that I could make it like a grocery bag. If not the grocery bag then I want to make it like a bag for the wet and dry market when I am buying the food since it is really too heavy to carry those stuffs.

It is actually better to make it as rags at least we can use it for a long time. At least the materials were not waste.

Hello! I am a very frugal person, I don't want to spend on none sense things and I really do love to conserve and recycle even if i have money to buy for something new. What I put into my mind is that, from this, i am not only helping myself save some money for what I recycled but most importantly, I helped my environment who needed to be saved from being destructed by the many man-made wastes we've seen around. Our little shares in recycling things means so much, i believe in that.
Most of the times, I donated my clothes and the rest of my family with some one whom I knew would help them, I really don't donate stuffs who are fully worned out. I see to it, that they could still use them. There's just some pieces of clothes that became my favorite that I really couldn't give it to someone, and instead, I just used them till they can't serve me any longer. What I do was to put them in a clean cabinet in our kitchen so it may wipe our dishes, if my daughter have a project in school that concerns old clothes that's needed to be cut, then I will have an instant answer to her needs. Recycling is better than throwing something instantly. Just have a proper place for this things so you could have them instantly when you need them. Have a nice Sunday night!

It is very important to be a frugal person that really like to save the environment. It will really help if we started it on us to have self discipline in terms of cleanliness. We are actually the reason of disasters as well that we don't need to blame others especially the people that are involve in government. I like recycling things too especially when I was still a student I was been creative enough to do such things over the recycled materials.

Same here if the clothes does not fit to me then I am giving it away to my relatives. But if that is something that already torn then of course that could be a rags already.

I am also donating it as long as it is still wearable and does not look like a trash. If that is something that is easily be torn then that is the time I am making it as rags.

Hi,
I am not a creative person and don't knwo how to sew,
so some of my old clothes, having torn here and there a bit will
become my house wiper clothes. I use them to wipe dry my leg,or
just to wipe anything that wet the floor. It can be a mopper too.
If the old clothes are still in fine condition, then I will
donate to some people who may need it.
I do have some friends who are super creative and they make use of those
old clothes and re-cut the shape and add some ornaments on it and
it becomes another piece of new clothes,it looks great.
Too bad, I don't have that talented skill.

Wow sounds like your friends must be so creative enough to renew the clothes so that it will be look like a clothes again. How I wish I have that kind of talent so that I could also give that to other people as my gift. It could be a souvenir as well.

Just like you, Metatronik, I convert clothes to rags is they are no longer usable to wear. For the ones that are still usable but not longer fits nicely, that's the time that I donate it to church or give it away to garbage collectors.

I am also donating my clothes that are not fitted to me anymore. Sometimes I am just giving it to my cousin but of course without any cut or there maybe a little dirt.

If they look like rags already, then I guess they can serve as rags. Sometimes it depends on what kind of material they are, absorbent material would be more useful as rags. If not, I would just put them in a recycling bag.

So what will happen if you are going to put it in recycling bag?

I think I could imagine that. It actually depends on person but then of course I have seen some already that they are using the bag if they are on their way like a pillow. I think it is also comfortable since it is soft. I think I got another idea from that if I can make it as fillings then make a pillow.

Thanks for the information. I haven't recycled any of my pants since I am giving it to others especially to my cousin and other relatives. Usually shorts are the things that I am making it as rags. But then I will try if I can make it like bags or even wonderful pouch or wallet so that I could also give them away if I have a time of doing this.
