In a preschool class, a teacher asked her students to define love depending on how they understand it.. one student said, "Love is when my mom comes home from work and has a bag of goodies for me." another said, "Love is when my dad and my mom tucks me in bed before i sleep." the third one said, "Love is when my mom sends me to bed when my father gets home smelling like alcohol and in the morning, when my mom wakes me up, she has a dark spot on her eye."
Imagine if this is how every child would understand love..

I am not sure if this is a true preschool scenario. I do not know if teachers really ask preschoolers to define love. How were the children asked? Was love a lesson in a good manners and right conduct subject, or in social studies? Or probably a religion class?
No matter, I am sure that we should never underestimate the emotional intelligence of the preschoolers. The teacher most likely asked Why do you love your mother? And then one child probably went on relating what usually happens in the home, and that is, the father getting home drunk and hits the mother. But it sure is not a definition of love.

I am an adult but I define love the way a child does. I love someone who remembers me on my birthday, especially when there is a surprise gift that comes with the thought. I love someone who endures hourlong telephone conversations with me and we talk about family gossips and yet we find solutions to the family problems because we love our family. A child loves his parents, his teachers or his classmates because these people are his world and the only existence he knows.

its a fictional story although the questions are definite.. it could have been that the story was really created in superlative manner for our thoughts to mingle on the situation and thought of a child.. it definitely is not a definition of love for a person who has a mature way of thinking but for a child, they usually define things according to what they see and what they feel.. in this way, their manner of thinking differs from a mature adult such as us since we use logical ways of thinking where in some thing should be specifically defined according to knowledge and science..

I think that children understand very clearly about love. They love by their feelings. They don't think much about. They only love another people without inquire any things. We, adult people, should learn more from them about love. Do you think so?

i think that the difference between the love of a child and the love of an adult is the innocence in it.. we adults have been corrupted by the environment so we have the sense of knowledge already.. most of the time we do not love according to our heart but according to our minds.. which is very much opposite when it comes to children..

Hi there Slipz 1487!
That's sad but it does happen in a lot more homes here in the Philippines. Much more than the cases that are reported. My professor in Religious Education observed how Filipinas seemed to stay domesticated and submissive even when they are being abused. I just hope that these abusive men will finally realize that what they are doing is wrong and that the abused wives would wake up to the fact that they are being abused and they need to get out of that relationship where they are always giving and there's none for them to take.

i pity those woman that are acting this way but at the same time i also think that they are wrong in what they are doing.. if some one is not treating you correctly then dont allow them.. i think we should push women empowerment, dont you think so?

kids definition of love is really amazing. their pure mind lets you know that they speak from their heart. i have a 2 year old brother and when he gets too naughty and i get angry he would cuddle his way up to y neck hug me and tell me 'ate' (older sister in our language) sorry, ayabyu (i love u)... and the way he looks to me very convincing. :)
