I took on a part time job and college

I now am currently working part time at night and going to college online as well. So far so good but I also feel somewhat drained from having to work outside of the home. I work at my local college and prep food at night but I am standing on my feet for almost six hours before I get a break. Anyway I was curious to see what others are doing for extra money either online or offline so maybe I can work this job only for a little bit. I was also cleaning homes a little here and there but it seems that is very sparoic which is hard to live off of and I live in a smaller city, any suggestions feel free to post them. I wanted to say hi to all my friends here and let them know I am still around despite not being on mylot as much as I would like.

I can relate to you totally. I am very proud of you for taking the steps that you have. It is not easy. I work fulltime and go to school in an accelerated course that is also considered fulltime. I have two girls that keep me on my toes, a man, and dogs..LOL...I am very busy too. Thank goodness my b/f helps me so much. I clean houses sometimes for extra money and I'll also do custom oil painting...when time allows...it takes a while for the paints. I write online..which is not so much money...and I participate here. I do some online surveys too. I wish you the best. Hang in there.

I am attending online full time but my job is part time. I thank you for taking the time to add to my discussion. I know I am trying to balance work life, school life, home life, as well as me time. I know once I get use to the job I will be doing better. Right now I am getting use to standing on my feet and I have only been there three weeks. I just hope as I said I can still maintain the grades and still be a good worker and a mom. :)

Hi momtrying - First of all, good for you. I admire your ambition in working outside the home as well as taking classes. Having done the same myself, except I had to go to the school everyday, I know how difficult it can be and I don't have kids like you so good job! How old are your kids now anyway? When I graduated culinary school I was fortunate enough to land a job almost immediately working on a private yacht doing all the cooking and going on weekend and week long trips when the owner invites guests. I work about one week a month right now but it will increase when the good weather finally gets here. Nobody really wants to go out when it is intensely hot like it is now. In the downtime from the boat job, I have found work online that is really working out well for me. I think its about the best money making opportunity I've ever found online and I have been looking and trying different things for a long time. If you are interested in the details, pm me and I'll give them to you. I'm making a few hundred dollars a month and it is consistant. If you don't mind sitting in front of the computer for 4-6 hours a day, the money is there and the more you work, the more you'll make. I love it and have been doing it all summer. Let me know if you are interested and continued success to you in your endeavors. What are you studying?

Hi suresanraja..I am so sorry but the opportunity I am speaking about is only open to people living in the USA..It is because we are taking live calls from cell phones and it would not be possible to do out of the country. Sorry. Keep looking though, you'll find something good soon! It took me over a year to find this company I'm working for online.

I don't do much online for money, but I will say that when I went back to school I worked fulltime, had 3 small children and then went to school (online as well). When I first started school, I thought I was never going to make it. I was so tired all the time. After a few classes, it started to get a bit easier, as I found a good routine with school, work and kids. Try to hang in there with the job if you can. It will get easier when you get a routine going. Good luck on your schooling!

Wow, you must be so hardworking to work and study at the same time. I don't think I could do that myself. Well, if you are lucky, maybe it's better to get jobs such as promoters as they pay well. But not sure about your country. My country pays quite good for promoter jobs.

I am writing articles for Associated content. It is a great website where you can write, and they pay very decently. I recently had to quit my job, even though it was part time, because I am in school and having a hard time finding time to study and work at the same time. Good luck!

I know how busy you are momtrying2makeit and I admire your strength to do that all in a day. It seems you are a goal getter, keep it up! In behalf of your discussion, i want to say the same. I want to let my friends know that I am still here despite the busy schedule at work. I am still alive. Moreover, I tried to have one regular job and two part time job before, its hard. I have no rest even at Sunday. And everyday I work for 18 hours that was tiring and unhealthy. I hope it will not happen to you, and take care of yourself.

I wish only the best for you. I know it is hard to be a mom and then on top of that to go to school and work at the same time. Personally, we really need the money I don't earn any more from not working. It's just really hard to find a job nowadays let alone one that is flexible enough to deal with childrens' schedules with school, etc. I wish I could find something dependable to do from home - that would be perfect for me. I hope you find something better. Have a nice day and happy myLotting!

you are having quite a hard time there my friend, working part time standing for 6 hours? and doing cleaning here and there? wow.. you have must have lots of energy... anyways, unless you still have extra time.... i would say maybe it would be better to try look for another part time job, how about a 2-3 hours only, with good pay. try to find a job that would really fits your skills and expertise or knowledge... maybe you are good in managing or maybe designing... try look for this kind or job related....this way you not only get higher pay you also widened and also learned through experience ... i am not saying that doing work at your local college prep food is not OK ... but don't you think it anyone can do this?

Wow! I salute you for being such a very hardworking person. So you mean you enrolled to college online? I guess it will be better if you also find an online home-based job so you won't have to go out of the house to work. It is not really easy to stand for 6 hours then you still have classes to attend to. Always take care of your health my friend. Too much work make cause fatigue and I'm pretty sure you won't like getting sick right? God bless and take good care.
