My e-mail address got hijacked!

I couldnt believe it when I saw that I had sent e-mails to everyone on my e-mail list about a website that sold personal male enhansers! They even sent it to myself at my other e-mail addresses. I tried to report them for junk and then I realized that I would be reporting myself! All the e-mails were sent from me to people that I have the utmost respect for. Pastors, school teachers, elderly relatives! Can you imagine how I feel? I dont know how to report them and how do I get my e-mail address out of their hands? Please help!

Hi Carol,
I have received a number of emails that were sort of what you are talking about here. They mostly came from friends and relatives and I am not sure if my email account was also used to send these crap emails. However, even as I have received these, I just delete them right away specially emails coming from strangers. I get them often. I am sure your friends and relatives will figure out that the mails didn't come from you but from spammers who don't have anything good to do. Don't worry too much about it. If it would give you peace of mind, you could just send out an email disclaiming such or you may want to warn all the people from your directory about such spam mails. I did that few months ago and it kinda gave me peace of mind,

Thanks bluebelleangel, I have started to do that and got laughed at by some of my relatives but I havnt got around to sending to the business ones and others that I really feel embarassed about. I suppose that I should have sent to those first. but I dont even want to mention it so I am here playing orstrich( stick my head in the sand and the problem will go away, unfortunately it doesnt work that way). I have to just get on with it dont I.

I didn't know that! I really have to make an effort to tell them, but I have a feeling that I have left it too long now and the damage has already been done. I really hate these people!

Maybe you can get a new email,and delete all things in the dictory of last email.

I have other e-mails and I can't delete my friends and relatives, and the business people still need to contact me. I changed my password, I hope that will work.

There's a Chinese bustard using my web site email as a return address so I get all his undeliverable mail notifications. He sells fake watches through Russian websites that change daily. It's impossible to stop but I do send some email bombs to his web site registration mail addresses. Nothing comes back so I guess it's annoying someone.
