Well, for insomnia, the best thing to do would be to drink tea, exercise so much that it makes you tired, but you have to do it during the day, and listening to white noise can also help. There are so many things that people can do for insomnia.

I've heard that counting sheep helps? No, just kidding! :) I am also Insomniac before but I guess if you try to adjust your body clock by always going to bed in the same exact hour earlier than you're supposed to and making a habit out of it then you'll get use to it and you can sleep. I also read somewhere that drinking a glass of warm milk before going to bed helps. Try researching about it in the net. You might find the answers.

If you have heard about yoga.....you can try it..becoz they are very simple breathing exercises which have power of healing many such diseases which need to be controlled by sleeping pills or tranquilizers kind of things which have many side effects...so its good to go for such exercises

He needs to try and reset his body clock. Try going to bed at 11pm and getting up at 7am. The getting up at that time is essential, even if he didn't manage to get to sleep until the early hours of the morning. If he can't sleep, get out of the bedroom for 15 minutes and then go back in. Make sure that he isn't engaging in any activities which stimulate the brain during this time. He needs to learn to associate the bedroom with sleep, rather than with not being able to sleep.

I suffer from a bit of insomnia myself. It really helps if you try to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day. Getting into the habit is hard, but it really does help in the long run. Chamomile tea can help, and also making sure that you take a couple walks outside during the day seems to help too. Also, avoid eating high protein foods at bedtime.

He should try to get himself into a routine as far as possible. He should try going to bed at 11pm and waking up at 7am. Even if he only gets to sleep in the early hours of the morning, it's important that he starts to wake up at a normal time, as this will help to reset his body clock. If he can't sleep during the night, he shouldn't just sit there, as he will only stress himself out. If you have a garden, he should go for a walk around it for 15 minutes and then go back to bed. If not, then just getting out of the bedroom is key. He should learn to associate the bedroom with sleep, rather than not being able to sleep.
