Love without happiness?

Okay so I'm doing a write up on why I love someone, one of my main reasons why I truly love them with all my heart and what's left of my soul is because they make me happy. Can you be loved without true happiness? Or is that impossible and not really called love if you are not truly happy with that person?

You love them, but do they love you back? I think that it's probably possible. Love isn't always happy. I think that even when things get rough, if you can still love someone no matter how low you are feeling, that is the true test. Love is unconditional.
