Do you believe that those people who are too much rational and intelligent are evil? I observed and watched some on television that scientists are always evil. They always portraying on television. Not just on television. Movies too. For example, Spider man the movie. Have you watched Spider man the movie starring Tobey Maguire? Peter Parker's best friend name Harry, his father is a scientist who turn into a green goblin. He invented something that makes him become evil. Have you notice those people who are playing a role as genius, intelligent and rational are evil on television and on movies? Have you notice those movies and those on television that they are always portraying scientist as evil?
It is like atheist and christian. I have heard many times on a different forum that atheist are rational and very intelligent and therefore, they can't go to heaven because they never uses their heart, instead they always using their brain upon explaining of what they believe.
People think that atheists are evil and most scientists are atheist.

You realize using your computer requires science. Doctors use science to treat patients. Scientist develop a way to travel long distances in short periods of time without walking.

Therefore I conclude they are indeed evil.hehe. Scientists are learned people and so they say, so that's why maybe they think too much that their rationalization and reasoning techniques gone all the way to purgatory, they researched and experimented many things that sometimes go beyond on what they should only believed. I don't know about atheists because I never meet one and none in the people in my surroundings are atheist so I don't know about these people. But the problem of too much intelligence is their actions to surpass the divine power of God, I think that's too much after all no one will ever got here out alive so why assumed intellect which attempts to surpass God?

I don't know about more scientists being atheist, but I do know the many do I believe in G♥d and even Jesus and those are the ones I respect and listen to more often because they can and have used science to prove the Bible is correct. In archeology, they have found many things the Bible has spoken of and I find it very interesting..
Oh, and when I read about scientists being evil in movies, the first one to come to my mind was "Cats and Dogs" where the guy invents an anti-allergy shot for people allergic to dogs..He wasn't evil, he was good..:)

Well, a lot of films seem to portray this but thankfully it's not in every movie! Avatar was a good example! The scientists in this movie were just and were always seeking to take the appropriate action in order to better an alien community. I like that movie Spiderman and yes, the scientist in that was nothing but pure evil!
I'm not sure I understand the religious side of things though. I think that atheists do tend to lean towards serious study and logical thinking, not always but most of the time. Andrew.

There are also good scientist on movies, for example ironman. Science can be amazing and might help us a lot in our daily routine. With science it makes life easier for us. However, if one misuse science for evil, then of course it makes life miserable for others. Everything has its pros and cons, and so do science. Only thing that differentiate is for what purpose you use it for.

Because most of the people on Hollywoods are dominated by Jewish, Hindus, Buddhist, Muslims and Christians - like the directors, writers, crews, actors and producers. Atheist are mostly on Indie films or independent productions. And of course you know for business commercial economic strategy or purposes, there are only just a few Atheists audiences.

Scientists are not evil and they are not all atheists. The fact is a lot of them struggle with their beliefs just like ordinary people. My Father worked with the space program and I got to know a lot of the folks who he worked with. These people were in awe of the Universe and Creation. Most of them also had a deep faith in their Creator and that included the scientists in the bunch.
The folks who write for The movies and TV are trying to make money. They are going to write what they know will sell. A bunch of scientists praising their Creator is not going to sell Movies now is it? Get a grip people.

The problem is that sometimes when people devote a good amount of time in studying something they like and later become its masters they begin to feel superior than all other humans and their beliefs, but again not all scientists are like that.According to psychology studies there is a specific group of people who are called assimilators. They are excellent at quickly learning abstract things and thus they really do well in most complicated subjects like biology, physics, math and even engineering. One problem this people has is that they can be acutely selfish because they are not capable of understanding emotions of other people around them.
Have you ever compared a teacher of English with a Math one? If you have not you should. You will see that majority of the time math or science teachers are extremely unemotional and rude. They are actually assimilators. Now when these people get hold of Phds their selfishness get even worse while the slightest emotion they store in their hearts disappears. The feeling of being great becomes overwhelming. Also they have a tendency to know everything by keeping their subjects in mind. Unfortunately, to understand the essence of God one has to really think outside th box which these people cannot do due to the fact that they try to rationalize everything with book knowledge. That is actually an approach of narrow mindedness. To understand God, one has to be completely open to the impossible. They cannot do it. Additionally, since they believe that there is no God they tend to come to the conclusion that there is nothing called sins and heaven, and hell. So they do not shy away from being evil.
But I mentioned earlier that not all scientists are like that. This is because in psychology studies, there are three more groups: diverger, converger and accomodator. If a scientist falls under any of them then he has the potential to be open minded and eager to understand other side of the story.

I do not believe that all atheist and geniuses are evil. It is false to generalize things we only see in particular case such as what you have mentioned. The truth of the particular does not necessarily follow the truth of the universal. That is what I learned in logic. There are atheist and scientist indeed who did help to our humanity. Imagine without them, could there be a technology which we enjoyed today. If they are evil then, there inventions are of evil fruits. If it is, then, why is it that we find comfort in using them?
Others will say that even atheist can do good actions not necessarily believing in a God. Bill Gates even said that we do not need a religion just to be generous and he is so generous to people. He is a philanthropist. In my case, atheists are not evil. The only different is that they have their view that we too must also consider. It is also their faith to believe in nothing.
