Yeah, Listening is a talent, its in fact one of the communication skill. You can interpret the speaker only if you understand his speech and you can understand his speech only if you listen. Note that there is difference between hearing and listening - the latter needs concentration and the former lacks concentration and that is why listening is talent.

i agree with you slipz! listening is indeed a talent, which only a few have.
you see, most people would either want to talk, halfway listen and then interject some opinion of their own or seemingly listen but their whole demeanor express otherwise.
listening is a talent, for you need to listen with your ears, heart and mind. this is so because there are things that a speaker won't say or won't be able to express, but as you are a talented listener you would be able to listen or read between his lines of speech. when we listen, we have to listen too with our minds to assimilate the facts and with our hearts, to spice it up with our feelings. But all of these, we just keep to ourselves, because we are there to listen.
we have to listen with our whole being, without fidgeting, without fiddling with our cellphones, looking at something else, our minds flying elsewhere. we have to be present physically and mentally, in order to really listen. and that's a talent that few people got.

Listening is indeed a talent that we all be wise to strive for. Anyone can hear the words of another. it is quite another feat to actually listen.
