Okay tell me why anyone would want to put a coupon directly on a tissue roll. You know those coupons that are stickered on to boxes in stores? You pull the sticker off, and have to unfold the coupon or coupons? Well there was one stuck on a roll of toilet paper, not the packaging, but the actual roll of toilet paper. I am not sure who thought that'd be a good idea because obviously part of the toilet paper is torn off because of the sticker, though that didn't make much difference... still, why would you do that?
Anyone else seen anything peculiar on toilet paper? Please no potty humor.

I'm not so sure. Curious, I youtubed how toilet paper is made, it seems a lot of it is done by machine, though I suppose it would have had to be a human to put the sticker on the toilet paper. Oh well, I suppose no harm done.

Makes no sense for them to do that. Usually I thought those coupons were supposed to be for immediate use if they were the style you were describing. I think if anything if was something in the mfgr that got goofed up.

Yeah, it was the ones for immediate use. the ones usually stuck on the outside of packages, it's folded and taped to the product, and is usually there to catch the eye of the buyer as well.

In a previous life, many moons ago, my job was to designing packaging for everyday common things. Although it seem not obvious, there are actually rules of designs that need to be followed. And this coupon on a toilet paper would obviously be a failure in design. As it not only comes into contact with the product, but also destroys integrity of the paper.

exactly, though it might have been a machine error, or the error of a person. There's no telling how many people had a coupon on their toilet paper. I happened to see it before I put the roll up, but it just makes me wonder how many wouldn't notice until they go to put the roll on the holder?

Most likely it was, it could've been machinery, or it could've been a weary worker.

I like the roll to be under, my husband likes for it to be on top, so I just acquiesce. Once we get our own place, I figure the guest bathroom will have the toilet paper under, even if we never use it.

Hi. SomeCowgirl. I have never seen the coupon directly onto the toilet paper, but I have seen where the coupon was stuck on the toilet tissue's plastic wrapping though. I think that it is just lazy that someone or the company stuck the coupon on the toilet tissue. What makes me mad is when the store places a store tag price on a product. When I go home to take it off, the price tag leaves a tear on the product. This makes me so mad! I don't like for my product to be torn or ripped off at all.

I've not seen anything along these lines just recently. On the topic of toilet paper I have seen rolls marketed with prints of politicians and celebrities on them!
From a cynical point of view, such a wasteful practice might well stimulate sales. If 2 leaves of paper are wasted for every token, consider how many rolls are wasted in that fashion across the billions who buy toilet roll: like it or not, we'll be buying replacements.

I agree! I hate how at the end of the roll, it sticks to the cardboard tube and it's kind of clumped up with several layers, its a waste!
But I hate that coupon thing as well...

Sometimes you can get the toilet paper off the roll, but I guess it just depends. Even if you can, I dont' always like to use it because of the glue on it.
