Internet Explorer 8 crashing everytime

I'm using Windows XP service pack 3 at the moment and I have this problem. Every time I open Internet Explorer, it opens for a flash of a second and then closes. No warning messages nothing. Just closes. What problem could I be having here? Do I need to download a new version of IE8 or perhaps a repair pack or registry repair?

Looks like a virus to me. I'm using the same OS and don't have any problem like yours but I use chrome. I don't internet explorer.

Yeah same here. I use chrome most of the time but use IE for installing toolbars that pay you to do so. Also I've got my antivirus updated. So no chance it's a virus. Maybe it's a different bug. Who knows. Hope I find out soon.
