my pet dogs problem

I have a pet dog and his age is now 9 years.He did not have any problems till these years now i think he has got mange,there are crusty formations on his skin and he keeps scratching his skin and he is also loosing fur.he is not active like he used to do.what should i do.

Sounds like it does have mange. I would take it to the vet but call first because some types of mange are contagious. Especially Sarcoptic Mange. I would do this soon because serious cases of it can cause scabies in humans.

well i took him to the vet he gave me some liquid and told me to give medicated bath and he gave him an injection and told it can be cured by 3 weeks.
