It has always been my dream to have my own foundation. Helping the needy, the poor and the stricken. Ever since I was in high school, I have dreamed about it. But my problem is that I don't know who to legally start one and how to get sponsors. Because even though I have the desire, I admit I lack financially. I'm now a volunteer but it doesn't feel enough for me. I can probably have connections that will help me out with the tasks to be done in such an institution or group but I want to start it right and legal. I'm now looking for people who have the financial capability and desire such as I. I hope that we can built up a good foundation someday.
How about you? Have you ever thought of making your own foundation? Or any similar group?

This is the same problem that we are encountering. We do have a small foundation and getting sponsors is not easy.
My parents started it so I don't have much idea about the legal process. I think you should start with your mission and goals then come up with a name and register it.
Next year, I'll be working full time on getting sponsors for the kids. Hopefully we get some so we can help more.

Wow that's great coz at least you have already started. Thanks for the advice, I'll take note of those you have suggested. I really want to start my own. It's really hard to start. What's your foundation. Please send me a private information.
Yeah you are right. Looking for sponsors is really the hardest part of putting up a foundation. An ample amount to start is good but to keep it going is really hard to keep up.

I have my own Trust which I created taking help from a consultant who is an expert in these matters. There are several forms to be filled and it needs to be registered which I have done too. You can put in some money there as corpus that will generate income and that income you can use to help whatever objectives your Trust may have defined. A Trust can also approach Foundations and request for funds.
A foundation on the other hand keeps a certain amount of money for disbursal to the needy through NGOs and Trusts. One can also approach a Foundation directly.

Definitely YES. Just like you, I have a big heart for the needy especially when I saw some featured chidren in the television who really needs help. I squeezed my heart out. Sometimes I want to be in a charity work, but as you said, I'm also financially constrained. Much more I want to help other people, but I am also have to support my own family. But if given a chance, I really love to. Maybe I'm not that well off but I would consider better than those really less fortunates. How I wish your dreams would materialize for I believe that it will benefitted lot of people in need. Good luck and Happy mylotting.

I agree it is so hard to start one, especially if financially you do not have the backing to start one up. I too also have always wanted to do this. My brother passed away when I was much younger, and I still wish to set up a foundation in his name, where I would make donations to Cancer. One day maybe we will both find a way to make the world a better place.

I really wanted to start my own foundation. It started when I was in my 3rd yr in high school. I've seen this documentary by Probe about AIDS. It struck me so hard that I really dreamt of having a foundation for AIDS and its awareness. Right now, in Philippines, many are still discriminated when they heard that this person have one. But other people don't realize their struggle in facing the said disease. Instead of criticizing them, we should understand and respect them because they are still human being entitled to right human rights. But I think and feel that I am still too far in having one. I am just praying that in the roght time, I can be able to build one.
Have a good day!

I agree with you. Unawareness of such are causing those who have been victims to move on. We need groups and foundations that would really help them. We only have very few supporting them. I look forward that you'd be able to make one. God bless!

Helping others is a noble cause, you already have the ability it just needs a training or enhancement from people who know. I would suggest that in order for you to be familiarize with this kind of job, why don't you apply to any foundation that is in your area? Or perhaps you join groups such as religious organizations, youth-oriented or poverty campaign organizations so that you would have an idea yourself how to do it. Who knows one day, you can do it your own. Keep up !

When I was very young, I had visions of getting filthy rich when I grow. Rich so that I could do whatever I wanted, and that included making a foundation that could help less fortunate ons.
As I grew up and realized that having a family, and providing for them should be my number one priority. And life got in the way in my plan of getting filthy rich, thus also delaying my dream of building a foundation.

I would love to do it, but at the moment I don't have the means for it. Oh well, maybe at some point in the future...

I have a dream just like you said. When I saw the poor, beggars, the disabled and so on, I wanna give a help to them. But it is difficult for me now; I'm only a student in college. My family also has a poor life. Maybe we should appeal our public to starting a foundation; the rich should give some help to the disadvantaged group exact.
