What Is It About Us Brits?

This weekend it was revealed in the news that Piers Morgan has gained a very high status television job as the replacement for Larry King.
We in England are always hearing about how much the American public love to see English television presenters, and we have lost a good number of them to the USA now. So I want to know from my American Mylot friends, why it is that the English are liked so much to front some of the most populare shows, and television advertisements, around.

I can think of two reasons:
1. Brits lorded over Americans for so long that they are hated. Naturally they want to have that person from their ex-master's stable as their slave spokesperson.
2. Yankees have realized that their accent, spelling and grammar are all wrong! So they want the odd bally chap from the old Bailey to bail them outta this mess.
