Facebook chat: When some people bug the hell out of you.

Whenever I'm on facebook using the chat feature, there always seem to be two or three people who I don't wanna speak to. However I can't delete them from my friend list for the sake of not offending them. Is there a way to be able to chat with some friends and be invisible to others. Like we can in Gtalk.
Thank you.

Yes you can able to chat to your some friends and invisible to others. Just create a friend list in friend list menu in chat. And then add your friend to your list you create.

Truthfully I don't usually even open Facebook chat. If I want to talk to someone on Facebook I'll post something on their wall or send them an inbox message if it's more important. I do this pretty much to avoid the problem you're having, lol. I don't want people trying to chat me up if I don't feel like talking to them so I just find that it's easier to stay out of Facebook chat. lol

Yeah you can do it that way but sometimes I find the information I wanna share is too personal to share on walls.

If you want to be invisible, just send your message privately. Then you will her/him find them sending the same way.
I usually do that. I just peep once in a while to see who's online that I want to chat with. I only chat when I really have some thing important to relay.
The reason why I don't chat in the open because sometimes you can't have a quality chat especially if you are chatting to 5 people at the same time. The tendency is some won't be able to be responded.
I myself get offended if I had initiated a chat but not responded.
