Have you ever noticed that some look younger than they are and others look older than they actually are. Have you found a way to look younger? We are all ears and interested to learn your secrets of what you have done to stay younger.
I think many smokers look older than they are so many years ago I stopped smoking. I'm sure this has made me look younger. What have you done?

I don't smoke, but I look older than I am.Maybe it's because I always surrounded by old folks and unconsciously I copy their behavior, state of mind and soul. This must be a thing to avoid if you want look younger.People who work with children and youth look way better.Avoid feelings like self-pity and anger, these two are capable to destroy both youth and beauty.Fresh air, traditional methods like exercising regularly and eating healthy helps too.

Yes, negative feelings can age us. I went o a get-together and all the older ones were not dancing so I hung around with the younger ones who were dancing and made them laugh a bit. I think if we laugh a lot we'll feel younger but will have laugh lines.

Hiya formi,
Don´t really know. People tell me I look quite younger than my actual age but I don´t know really.
Perhaps it´s me and the mirrors and the cameras I look so much different in them. Well who does´nt?
I try and move around as much as I can and get all the exercise I can too. Drink plenty of liquids and water also helps me too.
My skin is in pretty good condition could be better but I can´t complain.

Hiya formidexo,
My excuse is on Sunday that it´s Sunday and I always mean to exercise and all that but I sort of get distracted all Day long by something or someone. But I am active and drink plenty of liquids just the same.
I think we all need to keep moving around not sit down so much also.

I was listening to the radio the other day and they were discussing the many health benefits just from a half an hour walk each day. So now I'm really pushing to get into the habit of going for a brisk walk, half an hour each day. Though it might look as if I'm always on the computer, I do lead an active life style. Today I went for my walk and I climbed quite a few stairs two and three steps at the time.

I was looking 10 years younger, but I had some accidents and illnesses that have aged me and now I look 10 years older. From 2008 on, I've been aging pretty steadily.

Sorry to hear that but sometimes things go wrong in life and we have to do the best we can to cope with such situations. But keep doing what you can!

Oh I am, thanks for the encouragement!
2008, the car accident aged my back, but I go to a chiropractor so I don't walk stooped over. But the bug bite that made my eyes have like a ping pong amounts of fluid above and below them, that stretched my skin and at 52 years old, it's not going back on top and added to the wrinkles on the bottom! That happened this summer and really aged me, as you can imagine.

I look a lot younger than I am. Even though I am 31, with a son and my actions are that of a mature woman, I often have people asking me the same question. I am usually mistaken for being ten years younger (sometimes even more)than I actually am.
I attribute this to the grace of God. All you non-Christians, I know right now you are saying "Oh, please", but I do.
My life is usually stress free and who but God can give you that in the midst of a storm. I would also attribute this to my genes and the food I eat (I grew up on an organic farm and prefer organic foods). My grandfather always thought that fertilized foods cause us to age faster, so they didn't use it (still don't).
Lastly, and again women may not agree with me I wear make up about once every three months(if i have a special occasion that is). I'll also say for the most part(and i come from a tight knit extended family of youthful looking women) the women in my family don't wear make up. My make up on a daily basis usually consists of chopstick or petroleum jelly for my lips. I think makeup destroy the skin so I am not interested. During puberty I cleaned my face daily with some warm water with some salt in it. I never got acne either.
Oh I should have mentioned, I also take time out to rest and smell the roses each day.

May I add that I don't drink or smoke. A party for me is hanging with my friends at someone's house with a lot of food (not the healthier kind either), I indulge where my food is concerned. I can since I have high metabolism and walk a certain distance to work everyday. I never avoid the stairs. I run up them all the time.

Thanks for sharing the secrets of your success. I also agree that a good relationship with God is very important. It reduces a lot of stress since we leave our problems with Him and He can deal with them a lot better than we can. I'm happy that you can get a lot of organic food. Thai is excellent!

If I dressed up well and apply make up, I would look younger, pity I don't like alien stuff on my face. I don't mind the dressing up though and sometimes invest quite a bit on clohing.

I still look younger than my actual age of 33 my friends told me. It's because of my genes. Maybe the contributing factors are I'm not a smoker.(Smoking causes aging because the cells die and don't regenerate) and I take good care of my skin by pampering it with moisturizer. I've read somewhere also that in order to remain younger looking you have to eat a healthy and balance diet, sleep at least 7-8 hours and drink lots of water to hydrate our skin thus making us look younger always.

Another vote for good genes. If that's you in the picture you look very young. I think giving love and receiving love is rejuvenating, as people in love are always happier and happy people look younger.
Healthy food is very important as it contributes to a youthful look. The less poisons in the body the healthier our bodies will be and that will be reflected in a youthful appearance. Enough sleep and enough water are also important factors.

Love, and a youthful attitude do help. Hubby is actually eight years older than I am, but most people put him about twenty years younger than his actual age.

@ formidexo. That's not me in the picture (giggles). That's Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe, the famous Harry Potter duo. But I agree with you, love can be rejuvenating. It brings out the best in us. :)

The reason I asked this question is because some have figured out things they can do to look younger and even reverse up to ten years on the way they look.

I think you look younger than your biological age. So having children later in life keeps you younger. Great!

I am look younger than my usual age but not much and the secret is always happy and smiling. Some are going to gym for exercise and other are doing something that make themselves really fit just by aerobics or dancing. There are lots of ways on how to make the body looks younger but in the first place it comes from within and the inner feelings. Have a nice day!

You are right! All things start from within. So if we feel young then our outside will reflect what we feel inside. The happier we are the younger we will look. And a great day to you too!

I guess I look my age. I've had people compliment me as if I looked younger, but I think they were just being nice. Most of my relatives (older and younger) are losing their hair so I feel blessed in that department. Most of my gray hair is on my moustache. And I notice that some younger people seem to look older than me. I don't smoke or anything and although I have a pot belly, I do exercise some.

Okay. When I start seeing the thinning, then I'll get some glue. And I'll try not to sniff it.

A man with hair always looks younger. So keep your hair on your head as long as possible. Use some good strong glue.

I'm 22 (turning 23 in a couple of months) but I've been told I look younger, and well, I've experienced it too, so to speak: Sometimes when I've been to concerts or bars/clubs where you have to be over 18 to get in, the security guards have asked for my ID a few times. I guess I look younger than 18, then... maybe it's because I'm kinda short? I have no idea :P Then again, maybe it's in the genes, my parents are both over 50 and they look younger as well.
I don't really do anything to 'slow down aging', really, but I don't smoke or drink so I guess that's a first step already.

I think that's a great step already. You can learn about other things from the different comments that might come in handy later. the more positive things you do when you're young, the more you will reap dividends later in life. Take care!

Well,i can say that i am lucky to have the younger looks.
Many doesn't believed when i say that i am on my 40's.
And when i am with my young friends aged from 25 to 30,people says that i look younger than them.
Secrets?..oh,i don't have beauty regimen, and maybe that is one reason for staying young.
I don't use cosmetics coz i am scared of the side effects.
I don't use make up just baby powder on my face.
One more thing is,i always smile and avoid getting angry (to avoid wrinkles hehehe)
I am not a vegetarian but,i don't eat meat too much and more on fruit diet too.
That's all.
Have a good day always

Way to go! I think fruits are rejuvenating foods because they are easy to digest if not mixed with other foods. The less energy we use for digestion, the more energy the body has to repair and rejuvenate.

I've always pride myself of looking younger than my actual age, 10 years younger even! It has helped me get away with a lot of things at work. Although I must admit, it isn't advantageous all the time. Sometimes I could be lumped up with the fresh grads, newbies, because I looked young. Sometimes not enough responsibility is given to me because I am thought as still young.
But this might all change this year, as I've seen a rush of grey hair growing on my head.

So looking younger can be a mixed blessing at times. Looks like you're proud of your grey hairs. Maybe you'll get more recognition now.

Hi there, I would say I look like my own age, nothing more nothing less. I've been over working myself alot for the past few and that should have some kind of effects on my overall well being. However I'm lucky in that m
sense because I'm exercising regularly as well and therefore helps to balance out the ageing process.
Smoking do affect the way we look as it dehydrated our body, making one look more haggard than we really are. It's nice to hear that u have stopped smoking.

there are days i look older and these are during the days i'm so tired. i can be too cranky and i frown a lot. plus you have to exude an intimidating, strict look when in the office so i think that made me look older. on the other hand, on regular days when i have enough sleep and when i'm too happy, i look younger. smiling helps a lot and laughing too. also dressing down makes a lot of difference.basic jeans and shirt works well.

Yes smiling is a great rejuvenater, as is getting enough sleep. It is during sleep that the body regenerates, so get enough.
