Entomology Research Laboratory Closing

Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University has decided to lay off the entire faculty and staff at there Entomology Research Center. The Center is an offsite Center about 2 hours away from the main campus. The main reason given for the labs closing given is lack of funding. The only cuts being made in the college that the lab is associated with were made at the center. What do you think is it easier to cut people you don't have to see or deal with daily than it is to cut those you see everyday?
