As a Christian, what kind of values do you want you children to have? What do you think are the important lessons christian children should be taught? Or are there different lessons that christian children need to know compare to children raised under other religious beliefs?

Kindness, generosity, and good self esteem are traits that all children should be taught. Never try to teach a child something that you do not condone. Never tell an untruth to a child, because they will eventually find out and will be disappointed in you. Children learn best by watching what their parents do, and listening to what their parents say. Nothing gets past a child! They always know more than you suspect! History teaches that Religion has had 2000 years to change the world for the better, And has failed miserably, while murdering ( and abusing) millions. Teach your child the perils of religion. Don't send your kids to Church! If you can't go with your children, keep them safely at home.

Hi there, I think the best value they have is to have faith in the Lord, love Him and love others too. I've a 4 year old son. Been strayed from the Lord in the past and ended up as a single unwed mother. But the Lord has never fail to provide for us as I learn to live in His grace. As my son grows up, there are constantly things that I need to teach. It's hard when we are not perfect, yet we need to instill certain values in children. But I think another way of teaching is to live out as a good example for them to follow. As Christians, I think it is important as parents to be real with our failures too. As children grows up, they can observe that as we live humbly before God and live out those values that we teach them, then they will be more likely to live in that way too. But of course my son is just 4 years old. How do I know what he will turn up to be? But I've constantly teach and correct him to the best I could as I have been advise, it is better to shape their character when they are young. Different religious beliefs may have different ways to teach children but if we are Christians, then we should follow what the Bible says. Inside it, there are many guidance and encouragement on how and what to teach our children. In regard to different religious beliefs, we could also lead our children to stand firm in our faith but at the same time we can still respect other's differences. Hope this have been a help to you.
