I am currently in the same situation and it is frustrating waiting for someone to call you. I need to get a job a soon as possible since I will almost be going off to college. Anyways right now I am very much occupied with school so i guess that helps me.
For you I would suggest, taking walks or going to hang out with your friends. Friends always with getting things off your mind and help you relax. You could always just search for different jobs.

I can sympathize with you. About 4 months ago, my relationship ended and in the aftermath I lost my job and was forced to move back in with my parents in Ft. Lauderdale, where I know no one and have been in an isolated state since my arrival, so believe me when I say that I understand where you are coming from.
The best advice I can offer to you is to take this time to really discover yourself as a person. Pursue dreams that you haven't had the time to delve into until this point. If you're an artistic sort of person, work on your art as that can be fulfilling and definitely time consuming. Otherwise I would suggest writing. Keeping a simple journal in which you can vent your frustrations and note your idle thoughts can be very therapeutic and its self can open up the doors to what you are looking for in life.
If you're looking for simpler things to pass the time, I would consider listening to more music or watching more movies. The use of torrents makes this an incredible easy task (here is a WikiHow article on downloading torrents - http://www.wikihow.com/Download-Torrents). Similarly, if you are into experiencing new music I would direct you to http://www.last.fm which is a website in which you create a radio station that plays music specific to your interests. I would also recommend http://www.stumbleupon.com in which you specify your interests and you "stumble" to random websites that fit the criteria you give, it also lets you save the sites that you really enjoy.
I hope this helps. Hang in there mate!

I will try all your suggestions. I am into movies right now, and keeping on downloading movies at torrents. It really helps most of the frustrations relieve. I am interested with www.last.fm. Thanks for the sites.
by the way, don't let your relationship affect your job again..

I am in the same boat. No job, nothing to do and my car is in the shop so I can't go anywhere. I figured I would try to make some money online and today I went on a 2 mile walk. I think tomorrow I get my car back and maybe will go grocery shopping. I know, neither the walk or grocery shopping are that exciting, but that's all I've come up with. Good luck finding something to do and getting back to work!

It can be quite boring and listless.I'd say involve yourself fully in mylot as you can earn more money than idling time.Try and get some qualification or skill which will prove useful when you land a job.Apply for as many jobs you are eligible as one will select you.

There's so much that you can do. You can repay GOD for everything that he has done for you by helping needy persons. And you can read the Bible.

I was in the same situation last week. I had a job interview on Wednesday but was really bored all week long and didn't dare to hope that I would get the job. Try to keep yourself occupied... meet your friends or talk with them on the phone, do exercise, read a book, cook something, lol... I know it's really frustrating. I ended up getting a phone call from that employer and am working now. You can also call the employer back to check on the status of your application.. you may just get the job if you do :)
