what to do with lazy officemates?

Hey do you happen to have an officemate that always leaves work for you to do? How do you handle here/ him in terms of the share of work load?
You see i feel that my officemate here sometimes relies too much on people around her. We all take turns in covering up for her - she is always late and my other officemate covers up for her work in the morning and then when she feels like it - she'll never finish the work and knowning someone would still be here (that's me) she'd leave the work and our boss would be chasing, i end up finishin the work myself until late time ( i also have assigned tasks for me that she never helps out - not a sinlge time in our 1 year of working together!
I told her about these already and she said she does not care much already (she's leaving by the way) i just think its really unfair and how come some people will work and even get paid by not doing their jobs properly. arghh just ranting here!!
I've been honest to her about her work ethics, but she seems like she is not affected and does not mind being known as such. she even laughs at her no. of months late - which no is already 11 times and we are only at 13th working day for Sept!!!

I think every office has people like this. It makes the others have to work that much harder. Once I figure out that people are like that - I will leave their work alone so they are accountable for it. They need to face the music.

Then I would just document it each time so that when you do your yearly review you list all that extra work. That is just not right.

Your humility in work spoiled your officemates. I suggest you pass over her leaving job and let your boss know how lazy she is.

your officemate is a lazy woman,but my officemate not like her.my officemate finished the all day work ,then leave the office and sometimes she help me do the work.she is a good parter.maybe u should make your boss know how your officemate is.you should make her realized her mistake

oh yeah.. and she is late yesterday.. today i happen to come early coz i went to a nearby hospital to submit requirements. when i came in she is still not in. again, 30 minutes late =(
Its just that she does not want to work well anymore. she has got to improve that attitude of hers. my other officemate who covers for her too will tell our boss on monday our issues.
