I have been working in my current company for 5 years now and everything has been OK so far.... Anyway, i do feel that i am lazy to find job and is now in a comfortable zone. Do you guys prepare to lose your job anytime and are you certain that you can find a job in a short period?

This discussion makes me nervous. My husband is the only one working and there's no chance he'll lose his job as his supervisor and one other in charge if the supervisor isn't there girl, has told him that he does a great job. However, if the recession were to cause him to get fired, or another reason were to then we'd be SOL. We basically live paycheck to paycheck without much savings though we are trying to do so now. The money I make online won't even cover our lowest bill. I am trying to find a job but am being kind of lazy about it. Even if I don't find a job we still need to build up the savings we have so we don't have to live from paycheck to paycheck and so that we will be able to live without a job for atleast six months time.
I don't think we could find a job in a short term period now with the recession, so everyone should be prepared and have atleast six months savings which I aim to get started with now.

Oops.. sorry to make you nervous. Anyway, earning online is not an easy job and won't make you rich unless you are selling something. Anyway, in current economic situation, we do need to keep some reserve fund so that when recession comes, at least we have some time to look for a new job. I think its time to update my resume too :D

It's quite alright, I think everyone should be nervous about the economy and the money they have on hand for just in case we do lose our jobs. You're right online earnings don't really amount to much, if anything at all. Well it can over time, but it's definitely not something worth quitting a job over, though some people do and are very successful with it.
I don't have a very good resume, in fact I don't have one at all now but I did. Maybe I should make a rough draft after all a weak resume is better then no resume, right?

I changed jobs many times before I work for this company. I often have some preparations first. Special is money; in order that I don't be worry while I have not had new job.

Already happened to me. I like to call it "temporarily retired."
Being over 50 I am taking my time, learning about myself and other things, tried a few internet scams. I know eventually if I don't start my own business I'll have to get back in the game.

I've been working in a same company for going on 6 years now. I also have a part time job as a translator. Seems like my part time job is keeping me busier than my full time job. Either way, I'm always looking to improve my career field until I'm completely satisfied with job I have. Doesn't mean I change my job frequently & quite frankly, I haven't found anything that really apealed to me anyway. But yes, I'm always trying to be prepared to move on to another job if I have to.

I have been working for more than three years now and I am feeling bored and wanting to move. But job is not easy to get now, especially when we are getting older and out there so any fresh faces are ready to replace us.
I become lazy at my work when I am bored, so surely my boss will feel it, too. So, I have to think what should I do when I loose this job. I am still thinking now, no apparent easy solution for me, yet.
