France bans the burqa

The French senate approved the law banning any veils that cover face (Including Burqa ). the law imposes a fine of 150 euros ( $190 ).

only because of security reasons. As they said. I don't know, Is they fear from Burqa or have some other reasons.

I just studied this in my class. I watched footage of the controversy and had to give my opinion. I didn't think they should have banned the burqa. They said that it was because it was easier to conceal weapons...I think that may have been an excuse. I did see that all religious attire was already banned in their schools. They just included the burqas to that law. That made it not so bad if all religions have to go by the same rules. They are claiming they are open to all religions, but I'm thinking that by banning the burqa in public, it is displaying they may not be so open.
