We're told that "breakfast is the most important meal of the day" because you should store some nutrients that you will burn later to use as energy in your activities. I always prepare the usual toasted bread with spread or with fried egg, hot dog or bacon during breakfast.I want to have another alternative aside from the usual. Do you have any healthy breakfast ideas?

Hi,
I used to skip my breakfast when I was young and then only
my friend told me "never skip my breakfast" as it is not good for
my health. No matter how busy I am,I have to get a light
breakfast to keep my day goes on.
From that day onwards, I always have my simple breakfast before
goes to work or do my things.
For breakfast, most of the time I will have bread with jam,or make sandwiches.
Lately , I try to make honey cheesy sandwiches(using toaster) and it taste
nice.
You can also have instant noodle or home-cooked noodle with a cup of hot tes/coffee.
This is basically my breakfast menu for the day.

Yes it is the most important meal of the day. I prepare to eat rice rather the bread or cereal, though I love cereal I still want to eat heavy meal for my breakfast.
Here in our country we have lots of breakfast variety like...
TAPSILOG = Tapa (beef) + Sinangag (Garlic Rice) + Itlog (Egg)
TOSILOG = Tocino (sweetened pork) + Sinangag + Itlog
HAMSILOG = Ham (Ham) + Sinangag + Itlog
BACSILOG = Bacon (bacon) + Sinangag + Itlog
TINAPSILOG = Tinapa (smoked fish) + Sinangag + Itlog
Those are just 5 of my favorite "SILOG" combination prepared in the morning. The smell of garlic fried rice already greets me "Good Morning" and eating my favorite meal completes my day.

Just you mentioning all those food with "sinangag" and "itlog" makes my water mouth I miss eating at TAPS at our place in Davao. Aside from "tapsilog" I love the "cornsilog" and "bangsilog". I would definitely eat there again when we go home to the Philippines next year. Hmnn, I better try making some during breakfast in weekends for a change. Thanks for that! :)

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
In the morning, if you don't eat breakfast you will easy feel tired, cannot concentrate in doing things, feel asleep.
You don't have enough energy to do your best in everything.
I eat breakfast everyday becasue I think it is good for my health. It help me have enough energy to face every difficult happen during the day.
Thanks for your topic.

Hi! You're right, breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it gives us energy for the rest of the day. Here are some healthy breakfast ideas I'd like to share:
1. Oatmeal with flaxseed, blueberries & almonds - these are 4 power foods full of fiber, nutrients, protein and good fats with only a few minutes of preparation time. And very tasty.
2. Fresh berries, Yogurt and granola.
3. Grapefruit with whole-wheat toast and almond butter - this is healthier than peanut butter with lots of good protein to fill you up.
4. Fresh Fruit Salad - cut up apples, melons, berries, oranges, pears, bananas or grapes. Add a little bit of lemon juice.
5. Eggs with peppers - egg whites are healthier than whole eggs. Scramble with a little olive oil, red & green bell peppers, maybe broccoli, onions & black pepper. Goes well with whole-wheat toast.
I hope you'll like this...have a nice day! :)

Wow! Thanks for the suggestions PinkMelody. I'll try some of them. Like the Yogurt, Fresh Fruit Salad and Egg with eggplants and make it into an omelet. :)

if you are talking a healthy breakfast then you need to have fruit every morning. you can have boiled egg instead of fried. No No hot dogs! you can had some fresh veggies to breakfast if you like. or you can just have some good old fashion healthy cereal with milk and fruit.
I enjoy a nice breakfast and have learned that it is very important so i try and make sure i eat it everyday. best of luck

I used to skip breakfast when I was working. I know it was a mistake, but I wanted to sleep more than eat. Now that I am not working, I usually just have cold cereal with fruit, or oatmeal with fruit. I don't like to cook so those are the easiest alternatives. If I am out of milk I have a breakfast bar or dry cereal and sometimes oatmeal.

For a healthy breakfast, I have a fruit smoothie with frozen fruit and some smoked salmon with egg whites and dry 12 grain or whole wheat bread. Its very filling and tastes great without all the extra calories. Its a great alternative to what you may be used to having in the morning.

Hi
I have come to realise that breakfast is the most important part of the day. This is because if I don't eat I feel really light headed and eat a lot more through the day. My favourite breakfast is weetabix with semi-skimmed milk and a cup of tea.

Yes, I eat lots of fruit with some romaine leaves and a couple of sticks of celery and I feel fantastic for hours. Like today I woke up, slowly drank three glasses of water, went for a half hour walk, got home and ate 3 sticks of celery, 7 leaves of romaine lettuce, eight bananas and a small bunch of grapes. I was out doing voluntary work and climbed quite a few stairs during the course of the day. I did not eat or drink anything until I got home about eight o'clock and I felt fantastic all day. I was even climbing the stairs two steps at a time and I'm 60 years old.

I'm trying to diet these past few weeks now and trying to exercise everyday and the only meal that I eat rice is on breakfast, it really gives me a feeling of boost in energy before I exercise and since I only eat heavy (rice + any dish) in breakfast I always get excited to wakeup everytime and my excitement to eat rice serves like my alarm clock every morning =)

I get a 6lb bag of protein powder from Costco, Muscle Milk is the brand, instead of using water with it.. yucko, or higher calorie milk, I make a very strong pot of coffee the day or 2 before, pour in jug and put in fridge, then i use the coffee with the chocolate protein powder, with ice and use my magic bullet blender to blend a protein shake, sometimes I will have a piece of toast with some grapes or a banana. I also use stimulant X to curb my appetite, give me energy, and get the metabolism going.

Yes, indeed, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. First of all, we are hungry as we get up in the morning, without food for about eight hours over the night. So, most mornings, if I have the time, I would enjoy a nice heavy breakfast, strating with a glass of fruit juice. My favorites are orange juice and apple juice. And, a suggestion, oatmeal or cereal would be good too !

i'm used to having coffee only when i was still in school. but when i started working, i realized and noticed that i feel better if i take breakfast. i work at night by the way so i get really hungry and tired after work.
anyway, i'm a rice eater so rice with the usual -- hotdog, egg, rice then coffee -- this is one of my favorites. not really the usual but try having it with rice on the side.

I believe that it's important to have some breakfast to start the day with energy
I'm not specially hungry, so I just have two toasts for breakfast and some orange juice or vegetable juice. Trying to eat something heavier, like sausages, would make my stomach feel heavy all the morning, so I prefer to keep it simple.
For healthy breakfast ideas, you can try to eat fish instead of bacon

Yes breakfast is most certainally the best and most important meal of the day.It provides the necessary energy needed in order to be able to get through the day.I feel that if someone does not eat breakfast they will be less energetic in the morning as if they skip breakfast the next meal of the day is lunch which i quite a way from breakfast.People who ship breakfast are often groggy and tired and are less enthustic about they day then people that eat breakfast.I like the full deal with toast eggs bacon and orange juice.

You can actually eat anything you want for you breakfast, just make sure you stay away from fatty foods and those with high cholesterol. Most experts say that you should always include egg on your breakfast for energy. Include fresh fruits or fruit juices for a healthier option.
