Hello everyone. I am from Vietnam, I love my country so much. But I think my country has a very serious problem, it is a traffic jam. It usually happen at 7.30-9 am in the morning, or 4.30-6 in the evening. I don't know what about this problem in your country, but in my country is can call the name "nightmare", it waste a lot of time to go home or go to work when you are in the traffic jam. Share your ideas, and the best way to solve this kind of problem. Thanks for your ideas.

Well, I hate traffic Jam. I am from Philippines. I am glad though that the traffic jam in our city is not as worse as that in the capital city of our country which I think is really terrible. It is among the reasons why I don't like going there. Anyway, if I'll just talk about the traffic jam here in our city, it is also so bad that I don't like to travel during peak hours.

It is indeed uncomfortable. And if you are in the Philippines, the means of transportation here is the so-called jeepney. I don't know if you have that in Vietnam. And when you are in a jeepney and you are caught in a traffic jam, it is really so hot and most of the time, you'll be squeezing in with other people who are also mad because everyone is hurrying to go home. By the way, what is the means of transportation there in Vietnam? I always want to go there and visit but I don't know how to speak your language. :-)

hello luukimlong from vietnam, I will be visiting your country in oct. I heard it is very beautiful there and I am looking forward to my tripO Traffic jams are still a major problem, especially during peak hours in the morning when people go to work and at night when people go home. We do not get much jams here as we have a system to control cars and also electronic road pricing (taxes) for cars entering the business districts, I think it is quite effective as the price is expensive and we would take care to avoid the roads there and take another route. I think the government needs to think about ways to solve the problem, like control the number of cars, or driving licences approved, and the whole traffic system.

I heard there are not many traffic lights there, is it true? It could be dangerous with all the motorbikes just going in any direction they like.

Yes it's horribly terrible! It gets worse and worse every year here in Indonesia (Jakarta)! Several years ago, traffic jam usually happened around 06:30 to 08:00 AM, and 05:00 to 07:00 PM. Now it gets worse! Not only the previous traffic jam schedule is expanding (twice the original time table), but also another "nightmare" schedule appears! Jakarta's highway will be full of cars at around 09:00 to 11:30 AM! It's frustrating, especially when I have to go somewhere in a hurry. I prefer going out with motorcycle nowadays.

it is the same problem we encounter most of the time here in the Philippines. It is i believe because of lack of discipline. I've been to Dubai for a year and didn't experience traffic jam even once. not only because there are less vehicles on the road but people obey by the traffic regulations.

Haha, the traffic jam you got I think is much more than I already got. It just take me about 2.5-3 hours to escape to this traffic. Thanks for your ideas. Traffic jam is bad for everyone, I really hate it.

Hello. Traffic jam is horrible in some places. My office is located in the busy downtown core of the city, and I have to go there every morning driving. I live in a suburban area outside the city core. The traffic jam really becomes so bad, so horrible. It is indeed a huge waste of time every morning getting to work and every evening getting back home.

There are traffic jams here in the US also. It is terrible and exhausting and wastes time, as you mentioned. I think the best thing you can do is work from home, or work near by your home so that you can walk or ride your bike. Another suggestion would be working avoiding those hours like from 12 to 10 pm.

Yes, it only happens to lucky people since jobs and homes are separated in location and if it is near the rent is high.

Hello friend we all love our country and we cannot avoid traffic if no systematic solutions coming from the government. Because vietnam, like Philippines that have no plan about the structure of roads and streets. We as a lay citizen, in our respective countries. Don't have the ability to say suggestions because the government did not listen to us... Even if we have a good solutions to the problems. But we are not in the position to do so. I don't think it can help? Have a nice day!

A good government, is a good listeners to it's people. But if vietnam, did not change it's communist government. I don't think, it is progress at this time. Because communism, is not good to deal with people... It's a great things that vietnam, is now a semi-democratic country and people around there is benefited from it. Because there is nothing worth being a free man. Free to make dreams, free to eat what you like and freedom to choose... Have a great day!

It's true. In VIetnam just government can help because citizens cannot do whatever that beak the law. Hardly government listen to whatever is important and the way to solve many problems from people. They just do whatever they think is truw and the have the power to refuse the ideas. Have a nice day!

Just like you I also hate traffic jams. In our country (Philippines) it usually happens between 06:00 a.m. - 08:00 a.m. when people are rushing to go to work and school and between 04:00 p.m. - 07:00 p.m. when people are rushing to get home. The worst thing about traffic is that even if it only takes normally 15 - 20 minutes to get to the place you are going to it could take up to 1 hour to get to that place if there is a traffic. This is the reason I prefer to ride a train. At least there is no traffic. However, I also have to wake up early or else I would just be stuck in the train station waiting for train after train because usually trains are loaded. A lot of people also prefers to ride a train since it's faster.

Yeah, I agree with you. Train is more faster and safer if the traffic jams happen.

Traffic jam is a worldwide problem. To remove this problem I think following steps should be taken: 1. Build up fly-over 2. Under ground train service 3. Strict traffic rule 4. Remove low speed vehicle from the street 5. Introducing LRT and Mono Rail( Malaysian )

I'm under the impresion that it is a common phenomenon in every country . if we want to solve this problem ,everyone should make contribution .ruduce the private cars amount on duty or off duty time .you can take a bus or underground to go to work, but the buses and underground must abide timetable.
