Hi Friends,
I am planning to purchase an item from Ebay. When i tried to pay for the item, Ebay asks for my credit card number, CVV number, expiry date and my name in the credit card. Usually in other online transactions, I will be forwarded to my bank website to enter credit card information. So I felt the way is comfortable. But very much afraid to provide all details to Ebay, particularly CVV number.
What do you think? Do you think, Ebay is safe to provide such information?

It depends on what you're buying and if you check a user's feedback to see if they have any negative comments or complaints against them. The more expensive it is, the more you should be wary of buying it.

Yes Ebay is real good with that stuff they protect all your info. You should not have any problems, but you are better off using their paypal they own that company also. Just give paypal your card info and you have paypal account. They will fight for you if you have problems with the item you buy from ebay also.

I logged in Ebay directly and verified the page is from Ebay's secured page. So it may not be a scam. Do u still think so?
What i am looking for is, the way they ask secured data. Ebay must simply redirect the page to credit card website and collect money from them. In that way all details will be entered in bank's secured page.

eBay is perfectly safe, although they should never ask for your credit card details. All transactions from eBay should be done through PayPal, which is the best online transaction merchant, and without a doubt the safest as well.
I only ever buy things from people who have over 50 positive feedback. I will occasionally buy things from those who have less, but will never buy a large item or part with any large amount of money before I have received the item.
Some sellers don't like the way I work, but others are happy to send the item and then give me payment, as I have a lot of feedback from others confirming that I will pay them when the item arrives through my door.

I sell and buy stuff on ebay but never using bank details. I will only buy using my paypal account as then they do not know your details. Also there is certain things i will buy there like books but not clothes or anything too expensive.

yes ebay is very much safe to buy from. I have brought lots of stuff from ebay. I have given my crdit card number and details and till now have no problem as such. The service is very good and goods delivered to your place instantly without no fuss. I stay in india and have no problems here. They have extra security measure before money gets cut for final transaction. Ebay service is very prompt and I would recommend to everyone.
