They had Oregon Trail on the school computers back in grade school and I remember them allowing us to play that one computer class when we had a sub, because the regular teacher did not leave any notes. Don't remember much about it but that was the first time that I played a computer game. So what is your earliest memory of playing a computer game? Looking forward to reading your responses.

Yeah, I think Mario was mostly a Nintendo game. However, its possible that it might have come on the computer before. There are so many games out there, that there might have been something. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Hostile Waters is my favorite.I would like if they would make Hostile Waters 2 or remake it in DirectX 10 or 11.

Great topic with nostalgia! ;o) Gosh, I can imagine several of the ones adn even sing the tunes that went along with them (and the ones before tunes came out on computers in black adn white too), but I can't remember the names off the top of my head. Doh! ;o) But ones taht came soon after that, ones taht were my favorite were Scarab of Ra (an all time favorite, whic Hi wish I could still play, but can't anymore on my Windows computers!). Adn Dungeon of Doom, which was qtuie differnet than what I've heard of the current, new versions. Gosh, I think the very, very first game on the computer I played was some funny one with almost no brain needed, with some snake taht moved in like very (unlifelike) moves, and tried to eat apples?

You know it took me a little to remember the first computer game I ever played. There have been so many computer games since then, I almost forget. So, my first computer game ever was ... Tetris . I used to play it on a 286 computer. What sweet memories brought back your discussion!

Yes, it's been long time since then. I was in college and there weren't too many computers that time. It happened in the late 1980s - early 1990s. C'mon, I'm not SO old! You must had the age for going to kindergarden back then. Am I wrong?

Nintendo was a big part of my childhood. In many ways, a lot of those games were so simple. Yet they are extremely addictive in many other ways. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

You're welcome dude, historical change in accordance with the development of the era, many devices are updated in line with the development of science. Many games that have a high specification and require a very detailed chart that has its own satisfaction. This is different to the situation when our time first. Have a nice day.

Sadly, I was a late starter so the first game I played was Solitaire. It took me ages to get the hang of it and 11 years later it's still a favourite game and one I play daily throughout the day.

Would you believe that I've never played any computer game. Considering the fact that most of my time is spent in front of computer it is quite unbelievable that I never had the time to play a computer game. Well oh well, maybe because it is not part of my interest and also because I am too old for that.

I certainly remember the days of pacman! I really enjoyed that game and I thought that it was quite addictive at the time! Well, those days are over now although you can still search online and play this game. The other game that really got my attention was space invaders, that was definitely a popular game. I guess down to the games consoles these days and I only have playstation 2 but I have quite a few good games that go along with this console. Anyway, it's just another form of escapism playing games. Andrew

I remember playing tennis on the old black and white console back in the seventies. Looking back it seems so primitive in comparison to some of the amazing graphics we see today. Nowadays finally enough aside form Wii I don’t really play any computer games not on my laptop anyway!

My earliest memory of playing computer games was Star Force in Family Computer. I was so hooked that even in my subsequent games, I prefer shooting planes than hand-to-hand combat. Recently, I found it in PSP and now I am hooked again. But sometimes I laugh at how primitive the game is now compared to the current ones.

The earliest computer game I played was Space Invaders! That was a long time ago and we had a small box the we connected to the TV and went up through more and more difficult levels. it was very addictive and I got to be very good at it going up very high levels when the critters were pouring down at a very fast rate. One day, I realized how much time I was wasting and quit playing the games and haven't started playing again so that I can spend my time more productively. I know if I started again, I will probably be unable to stop! _Derek

The first games I've ever played on a PC were on the C64. They included Mountain King, Paperboy, The Movie Monster Game, California Games, and some others. One game that stuck out in my mind was BC II, Grog's Revenge. The game was tough but it more than made up for it with its caveman humor. There was also another one where you are this guy on a unicycle and you had to collect balloons, but I can't remember what it was called, and I can't find info on it from the internet, so far.

I'm not sure what my very first computer game was, but I do remeber playing Oregon Trail. It was one of my favorites that I played in school. At home I remember the first time I played PaperBoy. That was classic. I used to love playing that game when I came in from school, before doing my homework. I always fought over the computer with my brother just to get to play first. Those were very good memories for me.
