I respond to your discussion on my independence day, that is 16th September. There is a lot of celebrations outside, children are dressing in our many cultural dresses and there are lot of dances going on at the football stadium. My country, PNG got its idenpendence from Australia in 1975, this day today, 16th September. It was a joyous moment for everyone at that time, by then I was only a primary school child doing grade 3. Now my country is 35 years old. We are still dependent financially on our former coloniser, we are slowly moving into full financial independence with multibillion gas and oil project coming on. That is a good sign my country and its people have a reason to celebrate. However, corruption is a big sickness now and if it is not cured, we will have a big problem.
It is a public holiday now and instead of going out celebrating with my people, I perfer to sit in my study to something worthwhile.

Mid-autumn Festival is reaching in my country. I won't be off. I will have a small party with my partner and family on night. I'm curious about National Day in your country. What is day?
