Where have all of the meaningful discussions gone?

I have only been a member of myLot for about a year-and-a-half. When I first joined, I would spend hours just reading and responding to discussions. I had so much fun talking to people. Now, it has all changed. I log on every day, but hardly ever see anything that I want to respond to. Most of the discussions have lost their content. The only ones that I really see now are either asking a meaningless question, or merely stating a fact that can be looked up in a dictionary or encyclopedia. Where did everybody go? I miss my friends. Do you feel my pain, or am I imagining things?

I know, right? I respond to discussions, and then it's as if they don't even take the time to read them. It makes me wonder why I am wasting my time. Now, I usually only respond to discussions that have been started by people in my friends list.

Hi rmorefield, I have only been a member of MyLot for about a month now but I know exactly what you are saying...there are days that I come on and look at the discussions and very rapidly log off as there is just nothing that I would wish to respond to, yet other days there are some quite deep discussions and debates going on. I have found that weekends seem quite slow and there aren't so many decent discussions going on. It seems that some of the 'discussions' posted are done purely to earn money for the 'poster' which kind of negates the idea of this site I think.

Welcome to myLot!!! I have always had fun on this site. I agree with you that is seems as though people are only on here to earn money. But you are also right in the fact that myLot isn't supposed to be about money. It's a discussion forum. We are supposed to discuss things. I hope that it will change. I'll just keep an endless search for something with meaning.
