I can't tell you how to do this unless you use Internet Explorer.
If you do use it, it's simple to delete the temporary internet files: go to the Tools menu, choose Internet Options, then , on the General tab, press Delete...
Check the files you want to delete, then press Delete.
Isn't that simple?

that is simple but 50% incorrect..... I may be wrong... But what I assume is that internet exporer or any explorer for that matter only deletes temporary files related to it self... or internet... because as you may see... what relation does internet browser have with another softwares temporary files, only that software can have access to its own files, and if there were another file that would get access into other programs .. computer might pick it up as a virus because it is gaining unauthorised access to anothre programms files, only a computer user may give exeptional previliges to 3rd party applications...
So basically internet explorer cant delete other party programms.

Cricketpro, you are true 100%. Every program may only care for itself, and not for other software garbage.
As said, that's the correct procedure to clear the IE cache, but if you have another browsers too, you must clear those as well. Each cleaning option may vary, as every program places its options where they like.

go to control panel, network and internet connections, internet options, and in the Internet Properties box, go to the temporary internet files and press delete cookies and delete files buttons. then, go to the history section, and clear history. press apply button and ok button.
you can also go the control panel, performance and maintenance, free up space on your hard disk. or maybe even rearrange items on your hard disk to make it run faster.
also, consider using anti-virus program and anti-spyware and anti-malware programs, and scan your computer at least once a week to make sure it remains clean.
