Do you and the other parent(s) get along? How do you handle it if you don't.

I have been a stepmom for 17 years-my setp daughter and I get along much better than her birth mom and her do, I am cordial to her mother, but I dont like her one iota~!But for my step daughters sake,I make nice at my grandbaby's birthday, cause its still her real mom. But I know in my heart she loves me too,and that helps!

I am new at this step mom thing but I was a step child for many years and I was like you daughter. I loved my step mom much more because she was the one that was there for me when I needed someone. I look back at how she treated me and how well we got along. I am doing my best to be as nice as possible to his real mother but it is very hard for me because of why my setp son is living with us. I "play nice" when they come over for their visits. The courts said they had to be supervised for now. It is nice to see that their are other mom's out there that have to "play nice". I know it is hard for all of us and we do it out of love for the children.

I have a step daughter, and while we get along fine, her mother and i do not. How do i get throught it??? I just envision her with her lips stapled shut!!!

LOL i love that I will have to ty it. I just look at the time we have to spend with the other parents as a business thing, but I will be picturing that in my mind from now on.
