So i must say that i did not hold out much hope with my son trying to go to sleep before the early hours, even with sleep therapy. However, tonight him aswell as his brother that share a room, were asleep by 9pm,mind you it could be a fluke.Anything was worth a try and so far so good, only problem is now,is that the house is too quiet.Lets hop it is just as easy tomorrow night, then every night after, lol,i can hope.

Congratulations on one night of good sleep for your son. However, it is important for you to realize that there probably are going to be a lot of set backs along the way. He may have a good night one night and the next night might be very difficult for him. However, as time goes by there will most likely be more good nights while the really rough nights will become fewer and further between. Good luck with the journey.

I'm glad the sleep therapy is working. I need some. I wake up every couple of hours. It's terrible. I'm tired all day because of it.

Yes, you can hope. My grandson was especially good the other day and we were so joyous and both crossing our fingers for another good day. Didn't happen. He wouldn't do his work at school and we have to meet with the counselor to discuss a plan. He is just like all my kids. Has a mind of his own. And stubborn.

Isn't that good for him? Let him cultivate the habit of sleeping and waking up early. It's going to do him more good than anything else. Besides, if he's not sleeping, he will be either watching tv, or playing around in the house, causing a din, whereby neighbours might compain.
If the therapy works for him, do continue with it, after all it's been proven and work on him. Waiting for your good news again.

It might not be a fluke. It might actually be working. The best thing to do is to wear them out during the day.

congratulations, I will keep all my fingers and all of my toes crossed for you. I am hoping that you fill us in on what sleep therapy is. What did they do to the kid? I hope it continues to work. It will be good for the entire household.

That's one good news.. haha =D Nothing beats having peace in the house, especially at night when we need it most!! hehe ^_^ BE it being fluke or what, what matters is that he's sleeping and it's a good thing.. lol =D
If the same therapy works again for tomorrow, it will prove it's not a fluke after all, and it's gonna do everybody in the house more good than harm!! haha

I envy your son. Can't remember the last time I was able to get to sleep by 9pm. I usually stay up will midnight. It wouldn't be much of a problem if there was anything worth watching on tv, but there isn't(at least, till Conan O'Brian makes his return.)

For us parents with kids in the house, a quite sorroundings is a welcoming change :) Luckily for me, both of my kids were trained to sleep early at night. The other side of it though is that they became an early riser too and too energetic at that. Try to train them to let them go to bed early with same time everyday. It will help if the house will be subdued with noises and other entertainments so they can mind set that it is indeed sleeping time already. Try not to enagage with activities that created excitement at least 30 mins before their sleeping time. So the body can relax first and that way they can easily fall into sleep.

Everhting depends on routine and making it a regular habit, i usually find my son is off to sleep when the TV is off and everyone else has retired too. I guess it could be better to put them off to bed everyday at 9pm. That way they will learn to switch off at the same time everyday. Wish you best of luck, cos the 1st week is usually the most trying...

At least you'll get one good nights sleep!
I would keep doing what you're doing, it might take a while but lets hope it works for good.
Like you said, anything is worth a try. Keep your fingers crossed for tomorrow night!

Wait it is much too quiet over there. Are you sure they are not playing or getting into some sort of trouble. Usually when it was too quiet in my home I knew something was up.
Good night.
