OMG Obama's Health Care is already affecting Seniors

Some of my friends and I have received written notice that our Advantage Healthcare Insurance is no longer being offered for 2010. So far they have no given us an alternative but would let us know something after October 2, 2010.
What really pisses me off is that this Insurance coverage is United Healthcare/Secure Horizons which is endorsed by AARP who supported Obama's Healthcare Bill!!! GRRR!! Obama promised nothing would change to hurt seniors!!! YEAH RIGHT.
Has anyone else been notified that their current insurance policy will not be offered next year. When I tried to go on line to see what was being offered to replace the Advantage could not even open any web-pages as they were either not available or down for maintenance.
One thing keeps me going is the thought that each of these sleezy good-for-nothing SOBs who are destroying our American way of life will have to face their Maker for their judgement. No amount of slick glib talk will help them on that day!
I am so mad I could spit nails. I knew this was coming but I thought it would at least be gradually over a few years.

You have to understand that this is your insurance provider's way of punishing you for a political battle that they lost when their special interest influence was unable to sink the health care bill. When they found out that they would no longer be able deny insurance to people with pre-existing conditions among other things to take advantage of their insurance holders, they decided to battle the administration's efforts in the only way they had left available; by raising your premiums and blaming it on the health care bill. It's the insurance companies that are operating contrary not only to American principles, but the principles of human dignity by denying their insurance holders coverage, and thus proper health care in order to protect their enormous profit margins. The reality is that premiums have been skyrocketing for for years on end. The only difference now is that the insurance providers now have something to blame publicly.

That's disgraceful! I can just imagine the state of panic for seniors across the nation. When the notice was given out there should have been a coinciding report of the replacement scheme, even if it is not being implemented till a later date. I feel for you my friend.

Thank you. I have been searching the Internet for any similar type of replacement policy but there is nothing until next month.

I have not seen or heard too much. My husbands company did change insurance companies, but it seems everything is about the same.

I think most insurance companies are waiting until mid October when one can change their policies for 2011 to give out any information.

My Dad swore by Secure Horizons. My hubby is needing to make his Medicare choices this month, so he will probably go with Humana, that offers something similar to what my Dad had with Secure Horizons. I have a few years left, if there is anything left by the time I am old enough.

I was also extremely satisfied with Secure Horizons. I was really shocked when all the hoopla was going on before Obamacare bill was passed that AARP endorsed this bill knowing that it would detrimentally affect seniors.

I'm not on senior care but my insurance has raised my rates recently, I'm sure it's a reaction to the increases in expenses they can see coming.
Theoretically, what they say sounds good--millions of healthy young people paying for insurance would support the needs of people who are ill. But that is communism and it doesn't work out that way. The 30+ million added to the rolls of Medicaid will wipe out the financial contribution of the healthy ones. I have seen several people say that seniors will be getting about $2000 less in benefits each year. We can only hope that this travesty is de-funded or repealed.
There has got to be a better way to provide for those who can't afford insurance or can't be insured due to pre-existing conditions. It's not right for the entire nation to sacrifice quality and quantity so that a few can benefit, but those few do need help.
The problem is that we have no creative thinkers in Congress or the WH, no one who has ever held an actual job and paid their utility bills and had to stick with a budget.

Next year as far as I can see my health insurance will cost me an additional $1,500.00 per year and that really hurts. I am already planning how to cut my expenses so I can afford to pay this extra $120.00 a month!

So far so good for me. I have blue cross blue shield as well as tricare.
My husband told me he read that our ins. would go up 800% in a couple of years thanks to Obama.
I hope you can work things out with your ins. co. tho I don't see how.
Since we are both seniors, let's hope things change as I can see us seniors in deep doo doo.
Obama says one thing out the corner of his mouth and yet means another thing out the other end...................

Hiya heather,
Whichever way things go for anyone in this World if they become poor all of a sudden they should not be blamed and have to take take the worst end of the Stick because of their bad situation.
Whatever age People are entitled to some kind of medical coverage. You have seen it coming in the USA and I can see it coming to us over here in this Country too. In spite of the fact that they keep saying everything is okay when it is not. Things are starting to fail already. It´s just that they keep it out of the News.
