this is an incident that anyone is dreaded for. news about hostage taking is very sad and hostages suffer a lot. perhaps they would have nightmares and all the trauma. NIGHTMARES, anxiety attacks and flash backs are just some of the symptoms people are likely to experience as a result of hostage taking. They will need time and the help of a professional counselor to enable his to get their lives back on track.

being terrified is normal. it's not easy to be a hostage. but in the first place no one will become a hostage is to get rid of it. Be prepared to respond and escape. The first few minutes of a hostage taking attempt are the most critical to the hostage's survival. Carrying a cell phone is a major advantage in preventing someone from taking you or someone else hostage. Being able to quickly call the police will help authorities intercept the attempt or, in the worst case, quickly track the hostages in the case of success. Also, carrying pepper spray or violence-reducing weapons is a way to beef up deterrence that can prevent a hostage situation from being successful.
