We have a cat, Baal, who is a persistant talker. The only time he doesn't seem to chat is when he is a sleep. If we talk, he talks, and I must admit, it does annoy me sometimes. It does sound funny, occasionally it sounds like he is saying hello. Is this a common thing, do some cats like to chat more than others? Baal's sister Carmen is usually really quiet, a completely different cat, you'd think they were not related. Oh dear, he has just walked in and you guessed it....talk, talk, talk. Haha.

I have two cats as well. Kimchi is the normal kind of cat who's quiet and curious and she mews only a few times. The other one, Ramyun, seems to be like Baal. He talks to us. And he sings. Yep. When I'm in the shower and singing my heart out he'd stand by the door and mew loudly with me. He'd do that as long as I keep singing. He also communicates with us rather effectively. He "talks" when he's hungry or thirsty, or the litterbox is dirty. He also is doing something new these days. Before he uses the litterbox, he calls out to me and makes me stand next to it. After he's done he climbs up the toilet and looks into the pail of water, then looks at me. I realized what he wanted: for me to clean his litterbox immediately after he uses it!
