Out of curiosity and the feeling of interest, I watched the movie entitled When Nietzsche Wept. The movie is based on the best- selling, award- winning novel by Irvin Yalom. The movie tells the story obsession, a drama of love, fate and will that formed the basis of modern psychoanalysis. The movie portrayed the most famous people of today: Friedrich Nietzsche, Sigmund Freud, Dr. Joseph Breuer, Louise (Lou) Salome, Anna O. The movie also depicted the life of the most famous philosopher in our century and a little introduction to his thought. This philosopher shaped the course in the history of intellectual Europe. Freud is also shown as the one who continue the basic teachings of Nietzsche in psychology and would later coin the term psychoanalysis. It also showed the intriguing woman who ruined the situation in the movie. I learned different things from the movie especially on the teaching of eternal recurrence of Nietzsche.
