for about 10 years of working here with different nationalities, i would like to share my views regarding the contribution of the crabs.
well, i am not talking about crabs but i'm talking about people who are crab mentality.
in a community, group and organization they prevail and i feel their presence. like crabs, they always jacking for positons, pulling down others and me first attitude whatever the cost. they do not care whatever means as long as he gets what he wants. making schemes to profit his interest. wanting more benefits, investing less effort.
it is very hard not be influenced by them if you used to work and associate with them. is not it? or am i going to just play it safe as in everything is favorable to me no matter what the price? are you willing to be cheated by this people if you were to stand on my position? i think that even if you are performing your job well you will not shine by this kind of mentality? isn't it?

Well, you knew that having bad attitude is not good.
So,why should you let yourself be dominated or influenced by such kind of people.
You had your own principle and you know very well what is right and wrong.
If you think you are not one of them, better avoid them.
Success is sweeter when you do it in the right way without hurting or stepping other people.
It is your prerogative whether to choose between good and bad.
Have a good day always

Hi Jaiho, nice name!
How do you avoid? Practically I am working with them. We had a dynamic team. We work as a group.

Thanks for appreciating my profile name
Opps,so you worked with those kind of people.
Then, you really cannot avoid them, but, you can stand with your principle not to be influenced by them.
Like i wrote earlier,it is your prerogative...choose between good and bad.

hi kumar we find crabby people here in t he US too as wherever you work you will meet all sorts of people, crabs included. I do not
let them bother me or tear me down, I keep away, mind my own
buisness and feel that those who employed me will soon find outthe kind of people crabs are and they will assist them out the door, ie
fire them. I know where my own values were and when I was working,I ignored the few crabs where i worked including my bipolar boss who one day was all up and thought we were the best crew she had ever had, but the next day we were all morons, the worst people she had ever seen. so we knew to stay away from her as much as possible. of course there were times when we had to be in touch so we learned to very careful on her down days. She was coerced into letting me go and she even admitted she did not want to, but the new second in command did not like an elderly woman wo rking in her library, this I overheard, so she threatened Emily she would quit unless Emily fired me. so I was retired against my will but the big crab got it in the end. She lost her job as branch manager for firing an employee based only on her age.library headquarters asked me to come back, but unfortuneatly I had just broken my left shoulder so badly I had to have a shoulder joint replacement and as a result I only have maybe twenty percent abiblityh to lift my left arm more than half way up. so I could not return to wo rk as a page and shelve media. such is life. I felt like she really had it coming, what goes arouond comes around and it bit her in the butt.

Hi Miss Hatley,
Well they are very smart and intelligent too. I just hope that the management will become very responsive enough of what everyone's are yearning for. But this is impossible to happen even. As much as I can see almost half of the number that i have come across is that they don't really love their work. Minority of it are satisfied with the kind of job or trade they have. The rest are more likely had closed their eyes being left behind in frustration for not winning the perfect job they can be passionate about. That wasn't a part of my vision anyway. I think that change is the only permanent thing to happen with the inclusion of course that i am just luckier as in everything that i do, i will put God first believing that we will crown my efforts. I am really proud with my job right now and i am having satisfaction in the way i am doing it. I am giving much concentration now than before and i feel a significant future between me and my wife to be but most importantly it made feel good and proud. I enjoyed undertaking and giving it my best it made me feel better about me and my life as a whole. Now i am building passionate on how i do this job. Fortunately the effort that i am exerting paying off.
Thanks for sharing here Ms Hatley
