I get the hyper acidity problem some times, especially when I eat dinner late in the night. One thing which helps is drinking soda water. If that does not relieve the stomach pain, I would take different antiacid tablets. The one which I take most frequently is Gas-X. Works very well for me.

I used to have this problem, but seldom do any more. I have reduced the sugars and fats in my diet and eat more vegetables. However, when my stomach situation was at its worst, I was reminded by a friend that papaya enzyme is effective, and she was right. I do not know where you are. Where I live I was able to go to a health food store. I bought a combination papaya mint chewable tablet, and papaya tea. My stomach had been bad enough that even drinking water was giving me heart burn. I will occasionally chew a Tums, if I have not been eating right. I will not take proton pump inhibitors, as I think they upset your natural balance. Things like Prilosec, Zantac, and Nexium. Although you can get them over the counter, I think they are best supervised by a doctor if taken at all. Another thing you can do, that sounds strange, is to make sure you get vinegar, preferably apple cider vinegar, in your diet.Fresh yogurt will also help restore your natural balance.
